That cheesy mask is actually a very popular item in my shop. I have friends constantly coming over to have things repaired, and I only have 2 helmets, so that mask is almost always in use when folks want to watch. My kids also like to watch, and they will just grab it off the the tool chest and hop up on a stool. Honestly, I could probably use a few more. Handy for the eclipses too! Great video!

Really trying to figure a budget welder for myself at home. Don’t do much at home since I do it mostly all day at work but when I do need it I never have one. I think this video helped me make up my mind. Thank you. And side note I was trying to wipe that little black dot on the wall behind you off my screen like 100x even though I knew it was not on my screen 😂 thanks again for the help in my decision!

Great video tutorial as usual..I actually purchased one..with the help of great reviews like this one..after much research I'm 100% confident and convinced Lotos is the manufacturer for Primeweld as they have near exact model housing for the 200acdc tig model and another model with electronic face plate the 200acdcp , looks to be the electronics of the 225acdcp but in the housing of the 200acdc but with analog knobs the exact knobs Lotos uses for their other products, the back of both machines are exactly the same colors, layouts, on/off breaker name brand, power label , fan shrouds etc..the accessories are the exact same, packed the same with the exception of the upgraded ck17 torch and pedal in the Primeweld..the Primeweld has a different top cover for the housing and standardized connectors in the front..a unnamed reviewer / repair guy mentioned he tested and looked over the unbranded prototypes on request of primeweld several years ago and made some suggestions to upgrade a few parts, hence the 225 amp rating..but had a suspicion he knew which company made them as he works on both warranty and out of warranty machines and simply said it was a manufacturer that had been in the business a long time..Which would account for the price difference, the upgrades and great customer service and warranty..also seen pictures of the not released version 2.0 225acdcp with electronic face plate and housed in the Lotos 200acdcp case..All of which doesn't devalue Primewelds products to me in the slightest way and I rather have the analog knobs and bigger case for heat management..they are great products and have great customer service with actual worthwhile upgrades over the competition..Knowing who the manufacturer and track record helps customers more then a some unknown manufacturer with zero track record..

I bought one about 6 months ago and would definitely recommend hobby or pro it's a nice machine for the money. I love the slow pulse for welding thin material without filler beautiful welds. Not alot of people talk about stick mode but does really well too. haven't tried it on 110 just 220 volts

I've had mine for almost a year now and it works great. My only complaint is, I have the old style foot pedal. I went to a CK20 water cooled torch because of how much welding I do. I've had this machine outside using an extension cord stick welding on my pipe fence gate and it works great even on 120v.

I hope these hold up well. Didn’t have a good experience with my AHP so I sold it. Am looking at the prime weld but I want to see how they hold up. Everyone just has open box videos. No long term Also be careful with that trigger, they break super quick. All my out of box triggers broke on the wire side. I broke 3... Just a heads up for that.

I also have an Everlast i-Tig 201, it only does DC. Not a bad welder, but the customer support sucks and I'll never buy another Everlast machine as long as I live. In case you didn't know, Oleg, the Owner of Everlast, owns a big stake in AHP.

I'm watching a lot of reviews because I'm about to buy one. I'm an aluminum and steel welder plus fabricator. I've used very expensive welders mig and tig. From the welds I've seen in all the videos they seem to be as good as the ones that cost in the 1000s. I'm excited to buy one!

The only downside i have found so far is the startup amps on AC do not go as low as a dynasty bit as long as you are welding .030 aluminum or thicker it works great
@willhall7777
@willhall7777 3 жыл бұрын
@@amcustomfab is there anyway to cheat that and it go a tad lower like a different pedal or different size tungsten for example?
@amcustomfab
@amcustomfab 3 жыл бұрын
Sometimes if you start up on your filler rod and then wash into the part you can do it. Start up amps go a lot lower on DC so if you're willing steel or stainless you can pretty much go as thin as you want. But for some reason on AC with aluminum they're just a little bit higher. but like I said unless you're literally welding pop cans . It works great I will 20 gauge aluminum with it all the time.

@@amcustomfab sweet man thank you! I've used dynasty for around 2 and half to 3 years and I can't remember ever going lower than 30or40. I was welding really thin aluminum pickets... Probably the thickness of the bottom of a soda can and that temp worked great. Do you prefer this one or the dynasty as far as daily use?

Have the same machine. Something that would help is telling viewers more settings. You only said a few stats on tungsten size or filler or amps once. These machines are mainly being bought by people newer to TIG so being really specific on the settings will go a long way and help many others. What's your argon regulator set to? What's your pre and post flow rates, amps, tungsten, filler etc for each different weld?

@am custom fab I had arc issues with my Primeweld 225, talked to George at Primeweld, he went through all the same basics on the panel as the video you suggested. He talked my ear off. My previous comment still applies, if you are doing an instructional video on the machine, setting up machine and running three welds, it's really helpful to give the settings on those specific welds. It really does help so when anyone else with same machine is welding same gauge metal, there is a good starting point from someone who is excellent at welding - that being you.

Did you use the grey tungsten that came with to weld aluminum? I'm super new to tig. Got a primeweld, turn it on for the first time. I used the grey tungsten to practice welding aluminum. I coun't get the puddle to form at all but just saw the aluminum sink like craters, not burned thru. I was practicing on tha 3/16 thick aluminum. I set my amp to 128, 120hz, ac balance of 30 pos. switch set to AC. post flow about 7sec and preflow to about 2sec... I lower the amp but same thing no puddle but crater. What did I do wrong?
@amcustomfab
@amcustomfab 2 жыл бұрын
120 amps is probably not enough for 3/16 rule of thumb is one amp per thou so 3/16 you're probably going to need around 188 plus amps besides that all your settings sound good yes I did use the gray tungsten double check your torch lead is coming out of the negative port on the machine. Let me know if you have any other questions thanks for watching brother 😎👊

Alex, really glad to see you get a Primeweld. I've watched some of your videos in the past and you do some nice tig welds. I had seen your welding table and rack build. I wanted to make one comment to you. In your tig for beginner vid #1 where you talk about feeding filler, I use the 3rd style you show as it has never been comfortable for me to feed with the 2nd style you show. What I wanted to point out is that the 3rd style allows me to feed from the top of a corner, just as you show for the 4th (Rush Kane) style. I have never been able to get comfortable with the Kane style myself, it just feels awkward (I have tried). Keep up the great vids, I don't weld as nice as you but continue to work on it. :) PS - maybe Primeweld would help you out with a CUT60 Plasma Cutter to review in your table. I'm considering getting one of them, but would like to see a good review on it. The Frabrication Guy did a review, but not in a CNC table.

Are you serious? Not even close. FWIW, I also owned an Everlast i-Tig 201 before getting my Primeweld 225. I will never buy another Everlast machine as long as I live. Their customer support sucks a hard boiled egg compared to Primeweld. I am not sure how you can compare the 185 to the Primeweld. The Primeweld does 225 amps, comes with a genuine CK Worldwide Flexead torch, has a 3 year warranty with shipping paid both ways, and the people are top notch. Everlast has more dead machines that one would hope, has any bad reviews taken off Amazon, makes the customer pay shipping after 30 days from purchase, and more than a few people with dead machines, don't listen to me, you can search on the Internet yourself. I wasn't unhappy with my Everlast, just that the people I dealt with were rude and lacked people skills. The Primeweld looks much better on the inside of the machine.

@@Stevesmith-yw7cr My Primeweld is going fine, I know a couple people that bought the CUT60 Plasma also and are happy with it. Service and Support is top notch! As a bonus on the Primeweld, you get a genuine CK Worldwide torch! I was recently looking to replace the dinse connector on my Everlast, no such luck, it's a cheap connector with hose clamps, so the standard #26 dinse I got to replace it won't work. I've seen others complain about hose failure, should be no surprise, it's Chinese hose after all.
