The reason why he received a punishment of a 3 day suspension plus an after school detention was due to him having a history of engaging in this kind of behavior. This student has been in trouble, written up, etc many times for engaging in this kind of behavior, and he wasn't learning his lesson, which is why the principal gave him a punishment of 3 day suspension plus an after school detention. If this was the student's 1st or 2nd time in trouble, written up, etc for engaging in this kind of behavior, a 3 day suspension plus an after school detention would definitely be too harsh of a punishment.

In southern Virginia, you get automatic 10 day suspension for damn near everything when I was in school. Graduated high school in 2010.

seriously there is nothing wrong with that! how is that disrespectful? he was being kind and funny and he got crotchetiness in return. respect goes both ways. I would say that the principal was a lot more disrespectful than the student. and that is the case often times which is sad because the students end up getting in trouble but when the adults are rude they don't receive any repercussions
