One of the most strict principals I’ve seen, not only that, but I’ve seen more strict people.

A good principal helps students who need extra help as needed. I had several principals who cared about me and came along to learn about cancer and be ready to help a cancer patient feel accepted

I'm an RPHS alum. This is TOO funny! I've known Koenig since I was about 10. He was my physics teacher. From what I understand, he's done a great job at RPHS.

I can understand and I agree with no play fighting in school due to that unintentionally injuring someone, property or another person. Receiving Saturday detention for the first time being in trouble for play fighting is extreme. I can understand Saturday detention for first time fighting with the intention of hurting someone since people have the right to feel safe at school. For play fighting, it should have been a warning and then detention. Play fighting is different from real fighting.

My colleagues at a university dining hall dishroom and pots and pans area discuss about wrestling as a leisure topic at work. I am more less interested in wrestling. I received a "Approached Expectations" on my performance review under interpersonal skills during the last year at the old facilty due to my lack of interest in that area. I feel that principal is right by pushing students in his office. However, I felt that he need to give them at least two days of in-school suspension for the incident instead of Saturday detention. This would make it easier for their working parents.

If the scene is real, Kenny may have been laughing because he was nervous. When I was a high senior in the early 1980's, a teacher got in my face and scream at me in front of the class, because was not trying on the basic skills test. Although I was scared I laugh and could not stop laughing. The more he screamed the more I laughed. I was not trying to be disrespectful, I could not help it. Years later, I discover I have ADHD and Aspergers (a fucntion for of austism.

The Principal's as bit of a dunce. Students respect the school when they know what's expected of them. They behave when they have stuff to do. You get every kid involved in sports or afterschool activities, and you give each kid a chance to shine, then you can avoid trouble.

It's hard to judge this incident without knowing if these boys had prior incidences of this type of behavior. However, at first glance, it seems the Principal over-reacted to this. Of course, he was right to reprimand them -- their behavior certainly isn't appropriate for a school hallway -- but it hardly seems to warrant that kind of tone and a Saturday detention.
