Actually it's considered to be traditional in Indian weddings for brides to leave her family home when she get married (it's part of a ceremony called doli). So, it's sweet that Nick said that. It shows that he cares about the culture that Priyanka comes from.

Aninda Ahsan By keeping her maiden name and adding the married name she's still keeping some of her previous identity. I really respect her for that; I've done the same with my married name. Completely ditching the name I've grown up with in an instant just didn't sit right with me.

It’s a little disturbing to see how people have a hard time accepting women of color.. I’ve seen the same comments about FKA Twigs and Robert Pattinson.. in the end idk if it’s a racial thing or if it’s fans not wanting to accept that a celebrity also has a life and can choose correctly for themselves (both options are bad), but I tend to see this pattern all the time when it comes to women of color.. like there’s a higher standard for us.. we have to disprove people’s negative perception of us (“ok, I admit it”). This is just a critique of the comment, not of any person
