She’s a genetic anomaly just from an appearance point of view, (she’s 6’2”, mom and dad elite athletes) but she’s also an ELITE (professional) volleyball player! Uh, and a FIREFIGHTER? Stanford grad?!? That is something else again. Skill, speed, power, years of competition against the best. Well, just wow. Glad she’s on Team USA! 🇺🇸

Let's be honest here, despite being an except among women, she's not genertically gifted (from an evolutionary physiological reality) to be a firefighter. She was definitely a diversity hire (as we know) to fill the quota for women.

@@Marcus_MG42 I find this a difficult perspective to accept. SHE IS 6’2” AND STRONGER THAN MOST MEN. She’s exactly who should be firefighting. I guarantee you she’s one of the biggest, strongest humans in her fire house. Guaranteed. So you’re either trolling or just have difficulty understanding what an athlete like her can do. She’s like three standard deviations above the mean for women, and maybe one above the mean for men. She’s genetically gifted for a HUMAN and I’ll bet she’s at the very least above the mean (for men) in pretty much any fire fighting-related metric you want to describe.

My female cousin has played every sport available in high school growing up, and then went to USMC, then Army. It’s pretty awesome to see her blow through the Army’s old and new PT test kinda like Carly did. Very proud of her, and good job Carly!

I don't think most people appreciate how physically demanding volleyball is. Sprint, drag, and carry really burn the thighs... and she destroyed that.

Compared to college or Olympic wrestling,judo....rugby...football.....volleyball is not strenuous...kinda like pro tennis...happens in bursts but no one is pushing ,pulling,throwing or slamming into you, although there is no doubt about it this woman is an elite physical specimen!!!!

Its not just about doing them. Its about doing them CORRECTLY. there is strict grading criteria she would have been failed in multiple events. Regardless, shes a god damn monster

Impressive, but not quite the Army standard. You cannot use the upper handles on the deadlift trap bar. They needed to turn it over and she would have to drop a little farther or deeper into the lift. The pushups were not to standard. You must move your body as a unit. She went to her knees as she raised her body, and those reps would not have counted. It is unclear when that started, but the exercise likely would have been terminated at around 20 or 30 reps. The sled in the SDC is not the same as the standard ACFT. Hers has significantly less friction that the Army's version, and the straps must be behind the line at the start of the event. Also, you must place the kettle bells down not throw them down. She would have to go back and place the one that fell over. Lastly, hands cannot touch during the plank and hers were interlocked and her feet were too far apart. The only events she completed to the standard was the standing power throw and the run.
