Drainage Sales explains how and where to use an Air Admittance Valve.
This is a cheaper, easier alternative to the traditional vents on the top of soil stacks. These vents either need to placed high up at dangerous heights or alternatively, through the roof with a lead slate and then have the added expense of making sure the roof is watertight.
Air Admittance Valves can be installed internally or externally at least 200mm above the highest 'wet' entry point in the soil pipe.

I designed this product and use to sell them to Marley Germany, I then sold all the injection moulds to Floplast Ltd. So I could design and develop my new range of air admittance valves which I believe to be the best in the UK .

I designed and manufactured this Air Admittance Valve and for many years sold it to Marley Germany. Then later I sold the whole range of these valves and injection moulds to Floplast Ltd so I could develop my latest range of Air Admittance Valves which I believe are the best in the UK .

what is the difference between 2 way and 1 way valves...do both prevent sewerage smells escaping?

I used exactly this valve, my local building inspector recommended that I use this in my ground extension, Based in south staffs Marvellous idea, well done to you 👍

Very useful video, one of more informative. We can’t decide is 200mm above the heights water entry point = 200mm plus height of highest pipe into the sewer / stench OR. Say bath high tide / sink heigh tide or toilet high tide plus 200mm. Thanks regards
