I LOVE THIS! Many dancers who reacts to dance videos obviously needed to demonstrate with their bodies but they are stuck behind their desks and bound to their chairs and you just want them to stand and do it already. THIS IS THAT CHOREO for me since Michael Jackson Thriller! There are many wow choreo out there but there are only so many which feels as if the shifted the ground we are standing on, and THIS IS ONE. Jimin info that some still aren't aware of: ❣JIMIN, born October 13, 1995, at age 11, started studying, performing, & competing (winning every competition), in hip hop, popping (excelled), & street dancing, while attending the renowned Just Dance Academy in Busan where he's from! He was so good that an instructor even had the high tuition fee waived at one point! This was while also attending middle school, where he loved sports, being quite athletic, joined the football team, excellent at track, great at basketball, & billiards! Jimin also, all throughout his schooling, was known as a top scholar, achieving perfect scores, especially in math & science which just always came easy to him! Jimin was even class president for 9 yrs in a row! Jimin, all throughout his schooling, was also quite good in art class, as well as calligraphy. Jimin, then also took up contemporary dance. Thanks for doing such an in-depth analysis. I wish more dancers would try to break down & recreate choreographies like this. First, because it gives us non-dancers a better sense of what's involved. Second, because it illustrates, for the dancers themselves, just how much work goes into BTS members' art. Side note: Some of your thoughts about, "strong dainty," made me wonder if you're familiar with Bob Fosse or maybe he just didn't spring to mind. [I guess I assumed that American dancers would know his work, but maybe he was too far before your time.] The choreography for, "Like Crazy," has a lot of Fosse 's influence in it, much like the choreo for Jimin's, "Filter." Fosse, as a dancer & choreographer, blurred the lines between movements typically assigned to men vs. to women. I think you were spot-on to mention Taemin w/r/t to Jimin. I think that Jimin & Taemin share a particular philosophical & aesthetic sensibility when it comes to dance, namely, to redefine the artificial boundaries that have been placed on what is, "appropriate." Usually, people just notice Michael Jackson's influence on Taemin & Jimin, but - duh - MJ's influence was SO far-reaching & profound that it should go without saying that Idol dancers emulate his moves.

That “tracing” choreo reminds me of Parris Geobel’s choreo for her crew The Royal Family I think it was in a 2017 dance competition. The “explicitness” of the choreo was the same between the NYC performance and the Korean one I think… There is one in particular that was shared on Twitter and it was pretty… explicit. 😅

That girl in the right jeans in the back: Many dancers have picked her up as one of the best there and my own eyes went to her the first time I saw this. I kept wondering why she isn’t at the front. Because that girl dancing with Jimin isn’t very good especially if compared to the one in NYC.
