Finally! The whole story lol. You have do do noth the handheld AND the learn on the unit. All other videos on tell you to do one or the other. Worked first try after months of frustration. Thanks bro!

Thanks for this helpful video! It also worked on my wife’s Mustang. Like the other guy said, you only need the remote, or you can use the unit in the garage. You don’t have to do both. Thanks again!

My wife and i have been so frustrated trying to get this to work. Watched a dozen different videos. Nobody else knew about that last step, pressing the button and letting go a few times. Maybe its specific to the lariat? Who knows. Anyway, thanks so much!

I absolutely use the old cones. Unless they are precut springs with them already on. That pot metal they are made from lasts forever.

For some reason, my uncle’s homelink is able to open and close the garage, even if there is no remotes or keypads programmed to my opener and I have erased my opener, is there a explanation? (Opener is yellow learn button security+ 2.0)

It varies from make and model of vehicle. Some you need a remote to train the Homelink, some you don't.

No, like if I erase my opener, my uncles home link can still operate the door for some reason, the only way to get it to stop working with my opener is to erase his home link

Have you tried programming the vehicle while it's in the garage? Basically as close as possible. If not try it. If it works then you have a weak receiver in the opener.

You need to get one. Go to Lowe's, Home Depot, or even Amazon. Unfortunately there's no magical way of doing it without one.

Have no fucking clue why this won’t work on my F150 lariat. Worked fine the exact same way on my wife’s expedition. But won’t on my truck. It used to on my last garage but it was replaced with a new MyQ and now won’t talk to my F150

@@garagedoorgenius Yup. Everything seemed to go right from the truck side of things. My garage door opener looks a little different than the one in the video. There's only one button (unlabeled) on the antenna side (to the left of the "open force" and "close force" adjustments), so I figured that was the "learn button." I pressed it and followed the remaining instructions, but nothing.

@@gannicusfinch7068 dang. Yeah, it sounds like you're doing it correctly. Try doing it with the car in the garage. Right under the opener. If it works, then you have a weak receiver on the opener.
