It been a while, so I thought I'd do a video on the progress made on the RC crane. I've been mucking about with this thing while waiting on electrics for the RC truck.
The old damaged letter boxes have turned out great as an old abused crane house. Building the boom has be a tad tedious, but not that difficult. It's been fun making scale junk with old junk.

Thank you! I do enjoy the junk reuse side of things and it's handy too. I don't think I'll need to weather the crane much since the junk already has patina.

Cheers Bro. I been experimenting with my habbits. If I think about doing something on it more than 2 times I make myself do it. Otherwise I can get stuck in a thought loop and spend the day ideas-ing and not doing. It's rough as shit, but it's getting build faster than I normally build stuff.

Thank you mate. Yeah, I am a borderline junk hoarder I think. I'm trying to use some of the scrap up on builds so I don't end up with a shed full of crap. It's a slippery slope.

I'm glad to see that you made some fast progress on this build since your last video!!! I think this would be so cool on tracks! But I understand if you dont go that route. Alot of work probably involved in that. Maybe look at turret bearings I believe their called, for the swivel, if the angle grinder doesn't work out
@OldIronRC

I would love to do tracks, but at this stage I am not sure how to do it. I could try 1/6th scale tank tracks, but I suspect they will be expensive.

I´m sorry to hear about your eye. The crane house is excellent - I love the operator´s compartment! How did you do the knobs on the top of the levers? The sliding door´s cool as hell. I like the idea of Hy-Vo chains as tracks. They, and their sprockets, would rust up wonderfully. I look forward to seeing progress on this as well as on the White Freightliner, and still pine for some Duel tanker action : )
@OldIronRC
@OldIronRC 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip on Hy-Vo Del. I'll look into it. There's a story about the lever knobs. My sister and I were re-clading some rotten boards on the house and there was some bent rusty 4 inch nails in some of it. Re-clading the house was a shit job, but I got some crane levers out of it. The white knobs are just the old house paint on the nail heads, looks the part though eh?
