I've not done too much with the hobby recently and no videos. I've done a few small bits and pieces on the crane project, mainly to get it off the bench.

The lamp idea sounds awesome!

I thought it might do until I feel less lazy about making it into an RC toy.

Can't say how great it is to see you back after a little break. Super great content this time. Thanks for all you do.

I appreciate that Ray, thank you. Winter here now, my little workshop is cold and the roof leaks, so I tend to be less active out there when there is a warm fire keeping me inside the house.

@@OldIronRC oh yes my friend. I know exactly what you mean. We are already in the "tripple digets". You take care. Good to hear from you.

Honestly, I don't watch your videos enough but I need to. I really love RC vehicle's as they're built out of steel. There's an art to it and you do a great job at it! For years, I've been wanting to do the same thing and maybe I can make it happen this year. Thanks a lot brother!

Glad you like the videos mate. I been putting off making a cranes for years. Way longer than I care to admit.

Seriously digging the Crane Cy! And of course your impeccable fab work makes it just that much cooler. Still catching up but all the best with it, she's such a groovy build.

Ah, the crane! The jib's wonderfully long - I hadn't realised how enormous it's going to be. That little view of the "Duel" tanker was a nice treat. Your sign writing on the crane looks very authentic.
@OldIronRC3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Del. I do enjoy the results of using the little vinyl cutter. Way easier than hand cutting. I know, that Duel tanker eh? Shame to see it sitting (in the way) on the floor of the shed. I am still over due a running video of that.
@Del350K43 жыл бұрын
@@OldIronRC Yes, I'm sure I'm not alone in wanting to see the Duel tanker's run vid, but I'd rather wait and get a really good video than have you rush it. As for the crane, I love it - the interior of the cab's particularly good and I love the idea of turning it into a lamp, using one of those posh filament bulbs. I have a ceiling-mounted fan and I want to put a heli fuselage under it, with a searchlight doubling as a lamp. I liked your Slash body but wondered whether it made the thing a bit top-heavy and roly-poly. I once built a Series IIA Land Rover body for a coil sprung RC truck but it affected the handling enough to ensure that I hardly ever used it.
@OldIronRC3 жыл бұрын
@@Del350K4 yeah, that metal cab was too top & front heavy for the Slash 4x4. Almost no steering, point & shoot driving. I plan to take it easy this Winter. I cleared the bench and am looking to see what inspires me next.
