Progressive Muscle Relaxation is a technique where you sequentially squeeze a muscle and then allow it to relax. You can work from head to toe or from your feet up to your head. Sometimes you can even alternate from left to right. Progressive muscle relaxation can help reduce stress and anxiety especially if you notice tense muscles. PMR is also a great technique to help you fall asleep.

Lots of long over the top meditation videos out there with obnoxious background music. Love this is straight to the point, that works better for me.

This is a phenomenal video guide for progressive muscle relaxation. I'll be using this with my psychotherapy clients. I love it as an intro for them to use on their own to get more familiar with the exercise outside of session.

I like this as its quicker than some and as a het up person I find longer ones too difficult to relax to as I feel guilty lying down and not being productive ! Thank you

I do this with my clients and students as a relaxation exercise. Anthony Hopkins was taught this by Sir Laurence Oliver. He was so wrecked understudying him in Othello that he Would sweat through several shirts #actors #actingexercise
