Welcome back to W140Restorations as we replace a cracked radiator on this 1997 W140 S500. From the first 10mm bolt to the last 7mm Mercedes Benz hose gasket this video is a comprehensive start to finish on the replacement of the radiator, upper and lower radiator hoses, bypass hose, and expansion tank to radiator and return hoses. There are a few top tips for viewers if you are considering replacing one or all of the cooling systems hoses on your W140 or the entire cooling system. The easiest way to install that annoying thermostat hose is to remove the auxiliary belt and heat that hose with a heat gun. she gets flexible like a rubber band.

Great suggestion. It was wriggle it this way then wriggle it that way and eventually I rotated both ends at the same time and it popped right on there.

I’ve had great luck with both suppliers for parts, diagrams, and customer service. Hope you’re restoring your own W140 somewhere or thinking about having one.
