Thanks for watching and for posting this comment. Congrats on having a rare W140 if you’re sending this message from the states. I’m not 100% positive that you can, but there are definitely a few things you will need. Your manual cable seat and adjuster will have to go and you’ll need a seat with a power control module N32/1 for the driver and N32/2 for the Passenger for LHD cars. A seat switch adjuster for each door card is also required. I’ve never done the swap but hopefully someone reading the comments has some experience with this upgrade. Best of luck and thanks again for watching the channel. Please let me know if you ever make the swap.

Thanks for watching and great question. I recall the Gen 1 or pre facelift version “roof plate” is considerably different and requires it to come out in a left to right direction with some body trim tools. Don’t hold me to it, it’s been a while since I’ve been in anything before 1996. Now that I think of it. I think there were two generations of roof plates before 1996 and the facelift models.

You might want to do an oil treatment to loosen up any sludge in that triton. Those engines are notorious for getting blocked oil passages to the lifters which leads to clatter and much worse.
@w140restorations

Heck yeah. The ticking on any triton isn’t the rockers or the pushrods. It’s the timebomb somewhere inside each one waiting for the perfect time to let go.

I changed the fuel pump and filter on my 96' S500 and started getting codes for fuel trim on both banks. It ran well though with a bit of stumble when cold. Today I replaced the fuel pressure regulator and noticed a small leak in the vacuum hose. I've temp sealed it and the car runs great now, & no codes. Don't know if it was the regulator or the leaking hose. I did notice that the orifice in the new regulator is much smaller (you can see it in your video above comparing both). Without tearing my old vacuum line apart it looks like it might have an inline check or filter, does anyone know the p/n of this short piece of shaped vacuum line that goes from the fuel pressure regulator to the intake??

Thanks for watching and supporting the channel. What a great question. It sounds like there is a lot of love for your W140. As to your question about the vacuum line that connects the fuel pressure regulator to the intake, I’ve looked through three reference materials and cannot find the part listen anywhere. Two more searches and no go for three national Benz parts catalogs. I know what part you are describing but cannot find a number for you anywhere. There’s a tremendous community of W140 fans on here. Someone chime in if you know the part number. Thanks again for watching and I hope you like the channel.

Man, you’re not kidding about the anxiety surrounding bubble flare fittings. After reading your text I went down a rabbit hole researching and reading. Both the W140 and R129 have threaded ends by the rail and FPR so no bubble flare ends. I wish I had the answer for you but I don’t have the life experience to make any suggestions for your CL. No matter the final answer, I appreciate the comment and thanks for watching. I forgot to share that no, I have not changed the braided lines on Iona or Heidi.

In addition to keeping one spare ignition coil pack in my car, when I changed my headlight switch I ordered two and keep one tucked away next to my coil pack. My switch broke suddenly and I had NO lights. If you are traveling and your headlight switch breaks you could be left with no lights. Having this little part in your onboard parts bin could save the day (night) & avoid much swearing.

Glad I watched this as I just looked at my service notes for my W140 and realized I haven't changed my filter in almost 5 years! Heading back to FCP's site now.
