Yes, that is the penalty for wanting 50+ years old sports car, notorious for gaining rust. But this is what I wanted, so I have to deal with that 😎

I had to go back to this episode to see myself how it was...yes, I was still in the middle of building the garage, I did not even have electrics done 😂 No roof lights and no sockets on the wall.. Have you seen the later episodes, I think the garage is already quite full ..

@@GT1900garage yes just going through all your video's, even with your garage getting filled up, still way nicer than mine. Your are very brave for taking on a project like this, do you have a background in autobody repair?

Thanks, well. The project turned out a BIT bigger than the seller promised. This is my second project, the Mini was first. But first this magnitude complete restoration....This set of videos is actually a video diary of learning sheet metal fabrication...

Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately previous owners nearly destroyed the car with poor repairs. But slowly getting there and car will be in good condition for next half decade of use.

Congrats mate! Just found out your videos and I have to say it is just a joy to watch: craftiness, filmography and music, perfectly combined! Best thing is that you are doing the panel work with just basic tools!

a steamer is a very good way to remove undercoating, this save you a bunch of work and the surfaces stays clean and dry.

Pretty late for this, but I saw another restoration channel where they used dry ice to freeze the rubber undercoat/insulation material, and it chips right of after that.

Hah, I saw that too. But I was stupid then...heatgun was a game changer.. the oscillating cutter just made hell of a noice, took ages and ruined my lungs 🤣🤣

NOT AT ALL I bought this car because previous owner convinced that there is only minor bodywork to be done...I knew what Opel GT could be, and what is the potential of the "disasterness", but this baby met all the expectations on that :D
