After 20 years in the classic car hobby I’m sure glad to own a newer car! 😬

Yes, that is the penalty for wanting 50+ years old sports car, notorious for gaining rust. But this is what I wanted, so I have to deal with that 😎

I had to go back to this episode to see myself how it was...yes, I was still in the middle of building the garage, I did not even have electrics done 😂 No roof lights and no sockets on the wall.. Have you seen the later episodes, I think the garage is already quite full ..

@@GT1900garage yes just going through all your video's, even with your garage getting filled up, still way nicer than mine. Your are very brave for taking on a project like this, do you have a background in autobody repair?
@GT1900garage8 ай бұрын
Thanks, well. The project turned out a BIT bigger than the seller promised. This is my second project, the Mini was first. But first this magnitude complete restoration....This set of videos is actually a video diary of learning sheet metal fabrication...

Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately previous owners nearly destroyed the car with poor repairs. But slowly getting there and car will be in good condition for next half decade of use.

a steamer is a very good way to remove undercoating, this save you a bunch of work and the surfaces stays clean and dry.

Never tried that....I use now heat gun and a chisel
@russwren33737 ай бұрын
Pretty late for this, but I saw another restoration channel where they used dry ice to freeze the rubber undercoat/insulation material, and it chips right of after that.
@GT1900garage7 ай бұрын
Hah, I saw that too. But I was stupid then...heatgun was a game changer.. the oscillating cutter just made hell of a noice, took ages and ruined my lungs 🤣🤣
