Ah, good luck with your challenges. As you can see from these videos, repairing previous owners poor fixes consumes twice as much time and energy as normal rust fixes...Thanks for the comment, hope you stay in for following videos...

I am admiring , and all trained by hand ! 😳 For my car, I admit I bought some ready-made parts at Marluc, in Belgium, which remanufactured some sheets for the GT.

Thanks for the comment and tip, Does this company has a web site? And I would have bought some of the panels, but they seem to be astronomically expensive compared to the overall quality of it...

Glad to see you left out the floor drain holes, those are NOTHING BUT TROUBLE if you have salt on the roads. Also the added drains behind the front tires, nice much needed addition. Kudo's to your work, as I do similar work, but honestly, I would have used this car for a parts car and looked for a better condition one to restore. I like that you show your anvil and hand forming. This is a lost art. I tried to pass onto my son's, but they had no interest (it's easier to just let dad (or grandpa) to do it) than learning how to do it themselves. I like that you show how much time is involved, few people realize the work involved in this. Nice Job, your views will continue to grow !!

Thank you so much for the comment. This is exactly the point of having a project channel. Passing info for someone who is also struggling with same issues. Floor drains, have enyone ever used them properly? No, just a potential slot for rust to nest. Additional draining under fender seemed to be wise way to go. More of them in next episode. And in US this car would have cost fraction of what it cost in Germany. There are not so many of them left, even in Germany, not to mention Finland. I searched my GT for a 6 months. Germans do not want to sell their jewel classics ubroad. So definitely going to do full restoration with this one.

@@GT1900garage Will do. I am planning to get back to work on my project, a 1998 BMW 840Ci, now the weather is getting a bit warmer (supposedly, it was -2C last night!) I cannot afford to heat the garage like I used to. Electricity in the UK is 4 times what I was paying about 2 years ago. Trouble is, I am 70 now and everything on the car is much harder and takes a lot longer nowadays. All being well, I'll get it finished.

@@bobfrankish8883 hope you get your project up and running. Yes, I have also used additional heating due to prices. November december were quite high prices, but this year it has been reasonable.. This car has been in my bucket list, and now it was suitable time for this.. I hope you enjoy my videos and stay along through the project. I appreciate your comments and follow

Thanks for comment. Believe me; If you know what to expect and have no schedule to worry about, work is very satisfactory. If I would have known the amount of metal work of this GT beforehand, I probably would have continued for another 6 months in searching better car. On the other hand, with better project starting point, I would not have interested in documenting this in KZfaq, so ....What car you have in garage??
