THANK YOU BEYOND WORDS!! I bought my unit at a 2nd Hand Store, and it looked to be brand new and never used! - - I tried to use it tonight for the very first time, and it was a "No Go", which might explain why it was given away! Your instructional video, and about an hour of work at my end, and its working great! I happened to have some canned air on hand (I have an air compressor, but that always introduces moisture into whatever is being blown-out) and though I observed absolutely nothing come out in the way of any kind of debris (making me initially question if this was going to work!), once I put everything back together, a push on the ignitions switch, and 30 seconds of time, and it went on to help keep me warm in my workshop! Thanks Again for your video! Deeply appreciated!!

Will - Thank you for posting this video… I was about to smash mine with a bat until I tried this last ditch effort… Anyone else who has this problem please follow the instructions in this video… I was blowing mine out with compressed air but I was blowing air into the pilot light “flame hole”. It wasn’t until I applied compressed air through the entire tube from the back of the unit as demonstrated in the video that my unit began to work properly…

I Used carb cleaner to spray through the tube and cleaned the jet perfectly. Just make sure to shake the tube well to get rid of any residual liquid carb cleaner and allow to dry fully before before putting it back on the heater and igniting. Also I used a razor blade to clean up the hole for puncturing the sticker to find the hidden screws. Works perfect now. Thanks for the video

Is the thermocouple aligned to the hottest part of the flame?
@robr2389 Жыл бұрын
@@willhancock1992 Hi Mr. Will. Thank You for replying. I do believe it is. I don't know if it's a J or K type thermocouple. I do know they're bimetal switches. I tapped on it. I have had this thing nearly completely apart. Both ends of fuel line. Totally clear. I do get an even better looking pilot flame. It actually began to work but, shortly the bottle ran out. Put a new one on and back to no maintaining even pilot when I release button. I did figure out to slowly let button off and plenum would start. That's worked twice and stayed. Can't even get that now. Tried nudging thermocouple a bit over. It's definitely in the pilot. It's gotta be either that thermocouple or the solenoid valve. I got rid of the shut off temporarily by removing one of the spades. No help. I just bought this one year ago.

Can't handle the super cold conditions. These piezo solenoid systems are automatically regulated system. You can't adjust the amount of flow. Even after cleaning in extreme cold it won't operate properly. Pretty much a sealed non adjustable regulating system. The thermocouple acts as a temperature sensor and if it's too cold it may not operate properly. Sometimes it takes 10 minutes for the ceramic plate to heat up.

I did all of this. Rubbing alcohol on Q-Tip. Complete blowout with canned air. Fallowed instructions to the "t". That couple has one wire out of it. I suppose I could cut it, strip it back and short it to the switch it feeds into. That's defeating a safety I know. It would tell if the thermocouple is bad were it to work.

@@sawsandstuff380 Hey saws. Well, 15 years? Wow. I just got this thing last year about this time. I've done EVERYTHING Will instructed us to do. Then went further. Now, it's hit and miss. Got it working. Tank ran out. Put new one on. Wouldn't work. After three or so tries, it's now functioning. I've tried EVERY trick I can think of. Tried lightly blowing into the face of it. That seemed to help. Sometimes. Then, it lit off and is heating away right now. Being that I majored in an engineering discipline, I HATE getting beaten by something so simple.🤣

If you take off the housing and light as normal, will pushing the red square button turn it off? If so, then maybe the black OFF button on the housing isn’t properly engaging the underlying red square button.
