Thank you so much for this great information! I am very grateful to learn that there are products available to exercise proprioception. I'll be ordering one of the mats!

Thank you for the great video! I definitely feel I’m lacking in this area. I have a pair of topo athletic ultrafly 2 tennis shoes that I just got. Would I be able to get inserts for these that would fit/work? ( I also got a pair of correct toes that I want to try with them as well)

Hi there! Thanks for the support :) The Naboso Neuro insoles that Dr. McClanahan mentioned are great for this. Removing the existing liner from the Ultrafly and inserting the Naboso insoles should do the trick! If needed, you can trim down the new liner to fit inside of your shoes for a more comfortable fit.

My metatarsalgia is bad, for 6 years now. I've bought the correct toes, how socks, and low heel, wide toe box shoes and metatarsal pads. Not getting better. I live in Arizona, Do you have people here that work with your methods?

Hi Bob, sorry to hear! Our Store Locator should be a good resource to find someone in your area. This will list out retailers and providers that carry Correct Toes and may practice our foot health philosophy. We recommend reaching out to them in advance to ensure their practice is similar. Here's the link: www.correcttoes.com/foot-help/store-locator/

Hi doc, I have this problem with my right foot where i find it hard to extend my toes while at the same time plantar flexing my ankle. My toes want to either : 1) point straight up forming sort of a dip where the toes meet the foot or 2) if I try and force it they end up curling. It becomes even harder when my knee is fully bent. My left foot performs this movement pretty well, unless i fully bend my knee then they curl a bit. Any exercises i can do to help with this. I bought correct toes a few days ago and hope to see results in a few months. thanks

Maybe try some toe extensor stretches: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jJ-Aa9h-39OueZs.html Check out our KZfaq video library for other exercises to try.

@@correcttoes will do. also do you know of any clinics that practice your philosophy of podiatry in toronto canada?

@@BigBoss-rh8mz We are pretty unique in what we do. We are currently working on building a referral system but I don't have any to recommend at the moment. You can schedule a remote consult (FaceTime/Skype) with one of our doctors though: www.nwfootankle.com/remote-consultations/

Is there a proper way to train for proprioception? For example, is the goal just to stand directly on things like stones and bumps? Or is there something else going on, like you’re learning to step between them?
@correcttoes4 жыл бұрын
Proprioception is best trained while dynamic (with movements) as opposed to static (standing still). Without getting into semantics about the pure definition of what proprioception is, you want to pay attention to "ground feel" or your tactile sensation with the soles of your feet, your balance, and your awareness of your limbs and body in space.
