I developed this problem after working in a factory, where I had to spend a lot of time in closed and uncomfortable shoes. I suffered for many years, but Depanten helped me deal with it. It comes in the form of a gel, has a cooling and pain-relieving effect, and eventually reduces swelling and irritation. My bump became significantly smaller and doesn't bother me as much as before. I bought it in Romania.

Glad that has helped reduce the swelling! Please send the link to the product so we can research! Thank you

You are correct. the goal is to do both depending on your feet and any foot problems goin on. Correct toes are designed specifically to be worn all day including in shoes that promote more natural alignment.
@marykwart933125 күн бұрын
How often do you have to do this for it to be effective?
@correcttoes21 күн бұрын
This is dependent upon current mobility of your feet as some feet are in more severe conditions than others, so realignment may slightly take longer. Some have found the stretches and exercises to begin showing improvement in a few months others found it has taken a year or more.

I've been using Correct Toes and going barefoot as much as possible since 2011... My bunions are not going away (one is getting more painful), and my toes are still crammed together even without the Correct Toes on. I still have foot & knee pain, and Podiatry wants top cut my metatarsal and reset it to 8 degrees from its current 16 degrees to correct this bunion. Doc says never let anyone cut on your feet, but that seems like the only option... Just don't know what else to do. For now, continuing to tolerate it, though it is becoming more difficult.

Thank you for sharing your journey. We are sorry to hear you are still in pain and hopefully surgery is not needed! Please feel free to schedule an appointment with us at Northwest Foot and Ankle - www.nwfootankle.com/scheduler/ Please continue to work at it as sometimes minor adjustments like Correct Toes modifications, or maybe changing shoe wear again can go along way.

Yes, there are several variables that we look for in shoes to support a more natural toe splay but to also decrease the added stress on muscles and tendons in your feet. See link below for list of shoes we have available and some of the brands that offer a foot-shape toe box: More information: correcttoes.com/foot-help/shoes-101/ Shop shoes in our store: correcttoes.com/shop.html

Thanks to them, lots of going barefoot, foot exercises, and wearing minimalist shoes, my feet and toes have shifted closer to their natural position. Dear Dr., I wear Correct Toes, however, they push into the skin of my big toe. My toes get red and irritated. One toe got an ingrown toenail. I have the smallest size. What is a good way to protect the skin on the toe. I’m having big difficulty with my sesamoids on one of my big toes. It has a mild bunion, but I’ve been discouraged from having a bunionectomy. I do have fat pad atrophy, so I have been offered orthotics with a reverse Morton’s pad (soft), with instructions to remove it if the pain gets worse. I still have mobility in my big toe. The IP joint is getting sore. I wish I lived near you. How many people tell you that? Thanks for any advice you can provide.
@correcttoesАй бұрын
Correct Toes are not supposed to push into the skin, and they do not cause ingrown toenails so we need to address this issue. We ask you reach out to our customer service team using the email [email protected] where you will be directed on next steps in addressing this matter! Thank you!

Tendons dont really lengthen on e they have contracted. Mind wont stretch that much and cant see the knuckles. So now what?
@correcttoesАй бұрын
Tendons can lengthen with the appropriate rehab, however it takes time and one should be utilizing the toe extensor stretch daily because it can take a few years before seeing improvement. Metatarsal pads and Correct Toes in zero drop and foot shaped shoes are also very helpful towards improvement. Dr. McClanahan himself had a similar problem and now after 3 years is able to flex his toes at approx an 85 degree angle now.

hi. im a drummer and have a prolonged (5 year) stress fracture in my right foot from the bass drum pedal in the second and third metatarsals. i also made it worse by running. is there anything that you can recommend for my feet? i need to be able to play drums for two hours a day. i usually play high intensity rock n roll. its my life. i had switched to barefoot running shoes both for running and drumming and they may have caused problems.
@correcttoesАй бұрын
Hi there, we suggest setting an appointment with one of our doctors for recommendations as they will be best equipped to provide a treatment plan specifically for you. Natural footwear is an adjustment and we always tell those to ease back into high intensity workouts as your foot is working from a new platform and will need time to strengthen and readjust. Here is one of our blogs where you can read more in-depth about making the transition to a more natural footwear: correcttoes.com/how-to-transition-to-barefoot-shoes/

Is this real? Why do many doctors say that the bone is growing?
@correcttoes2 ай бұрын
This is a common misconception but the bunions or hallux valgus is shown to be an extreme dislocation and not a bone growth. You can read more into this dynamic here: www.jospt.org/doi/full/10.2519/jospt.2016.6704

I have never heard of anybody reversing bunions without surgery. I’m sure this could help before and after correction . But once you get these they don’t go away . I need to see proof .
@correcttoes2 ай бұрын
In some advanced cases, bunions(hallux abducto valgus) can be complex, and do require surgery, as you mentioned. However, if and when caught early enough, bunion reversal is possible through the exercises outlined in the video along with natural or foot shaped shoes, and the constant repetition of realigning the toes using Correct Toes toe spacers. There is a mix of information we have where you can see before and after photos along with a physical therapy treatment plan that focuses solely on the realignment of the toes and helping reverse bunions. You can read "Treatment of Progressive First Metatarsophalangeal Hallux Valgus Deformity: A Biomechanically Based Muscle-Strengthening Approach" (Journal of Orthopaedic & Sports Physical Therapy, 2016) and we have a 3 part blog series on how bunions are an advanced dislocation and not a bone growth that needs to be surgically removed.
