Here's some things to think about before going to New York City....
Have you ever thought about visiting in NYC? Or even actually moving and living there? New York gets so many tourists every single year, so here's a few Pros and Cons you should know about first before making your trip. I am a Las Vegas KZfaqr and this is my first vlog that is outside of Vegas, so I just had to visit my favorite city. Although I have never lived in New York, I have visited plenty of times and even lived there a full month in an Airbnb just to see what it felt like to live like a local. And boy did I learn a lot! That's why I'm here to help you and teach you as much as I can before you land in the Big Apple. We're to be talking about traffic the small spaces, the subway, food costs, tourist traps, and so much more. Hope you enjoy!

You're right on the money Norma. I grew up in Brooklyn in the 60s, and most of the cons existed back then too, except that it was way less expensive to eat, see a show, stay at a hotel, see attractions and park. And having access to a bathroom always seemed to be a problem, even back then. I live in Henderson now and love it, but sure do miss those New York bagels and pizza.

I lived in Brooklyn and worked in the city at Highline Ballroom for nearly ten years. It is definitely a love/hate relationship! You love to hate it, and you hate to love it! If you live there on less than $150,000 a year or so, you _will_ struggle. When I left back in 2014, my rent (in Bed-Stuy Brooklyn!) was going up from $1900 to $2400 per month and I just couldn't do it anymore. It was too frustrating to always feel like you were living hand-to-mouth and not really saving any money for all your hard work. I *loved* the food and the dive bars, as well as being on the very pulse of the newest music. That's what kept me there so long. But, after a while, with the costs ever rising, I needed to move on. I miss my friends, the food, and the music ... but I don't honestly miss the city.

We've gone to NYC many times since 2015 as we had family in Brooklyn. Your list is so accurate. One of the funnest things we always do is just get on the train, pick a neighborhood and check it out. So many local things that you can just blend into away from all the touring crowd. Stumbled onto places to eat and chill as well. Midwood Flats in Brooklyn has probably the best hamburger I've ever had. Also, I'd recommend Ayza Wine and Chocolate Bar on W 31st between Broadway and 5th for food and drinks, we go every time!

I visited NYC last year for my birthday and it was the best trip I had ever been on!! We had so much fun!! The city life, the atmosphere, the food and the people are just a vibe!! I definitely don’t miss the subway. Lol! My friend convinced me to take the bus from the airport to the subway and I hated it lol I had like 2 luggages and it was a struggle until this lady kindly opened the door for us so that we could get inside of the subway station. Lol. One time we ended up in the Bronx and even though it was broad daylight I had never clutched my purse so tightly. I was desperately trying to get back to the right train. Lol. Other than that I loved everything about that trip and plan on taking my son next year.

Oh and when we were in NYC we got the service of Go Hybrid Pedicab. The driver was amazing. booked it im advance and paid after the tour. $50 pee person for 1.5 hours. Completely worth it. Hi, Norma...; I live on a ( working cattle ranch ) in Montana and the contrast between New York City and Montana... is night and day. I actually liked and enjoyed my visit to New York City, and your list was spot on, correct... So much open space in Montana and so little space in New York City... I remember walking around tall skyscrapers, and people were telling me... there are unbelievable tall skyscrapers... that block the ( sun ) all day. That was some experience... since Montana is called; "Big Sky Country." We see the sun all day... * Excellent video and very informative, and thank you for sharing the video... * You are beautiful as ever and, of course, "Bright, intelligent, and attractive." Your friend always.., Mike in Montana P.S.: "Would I return to New York City ?"..., my answer is..., "Yes !" When you ate that huge delicious sandwich..., I had to raid my refrigerator... I am happy you took a vacation and visited a great city to visit... Watch out for those bicycles... Mike in Montana :)

It takes a little time to get adjusted to NYC. If you thought that was crowded, that was nothing. We’re still in a pandemic and probably 50-55% of the work force is still working remotely. Plus it’s the summer time and a lot of people take off during the summer so traffic and crowds are probably 10-15% lighter than usual. There are so many pros to NYC that it would take a whole series of videos to go through them all. Nice sampling of different spots to show off the diversity of the city! Can’t wait to see how much other content you got while you were here. Too bad it was the fake you that accepted my offer to take you on a shopping spree in NYC. That could have been fun! LOL! Hope you had a great time visiting! It was so short! Glad you met up with some friends!

Hi, loved the video. If its an option to get to ur destination then I'd recommend the NYC water taxi. It's a fantastic way to see the NYC cityscape. The fare is that of a subway ride.

Being a movie lover and living there as a kid in the early 90s, nyc is my favorite city during the holiday season. Throw in some snow and it doesn't get much better. I avoid it at all costs any other time of the year though

Just got back from my 2nd NYC run! Based on Norma's recommendation, I booked the Hotel at Fifth Avenue & found it to be everything she said it was- small, but clean, comfortable, quiet & at the heart of everything! If I didn't walk, a bus stop was right out at the end of the block & the Herald Square Subway Station was nearby.

I was "with you" last night in live stream of the Las Vegas thunderstorm with the lightning and the thunder and the pouring down rain--you told me to be here so here I am! This was great and really informative; you should get paid by the New York City chamber of commerce! Will there be a video of your flight? Did your cameraman travel with you? Glad you're home safe🤠👍

Thank you so much for being here! I know it's a video that won't get as many views, so every view counts. And my camera man Ben lives in NY, wish he lived in Vegas lol

I live in Northern NJ less than an hour from NYC. I used to love going to the city but with all the crime there now I won't go because it's not safe. Random shootings, stabbings, people get pushed onto subway tracks, 16 year old attacking police. The place is out of control and needs to be cleaned up. I'm glad Norma is safe.

I agree 1000%....I live in Central Jersey and rarely go into the city for the reasons you mentioned. Since the pandemic, the city has become a cesspool. I tell friends and relatives not to travel to NYC because it's just not safe anymore.

Hi Norma, what a fun a fun vedio I enjoyed watching it. I have never been to New York City ,NY. . I'd love to visit the Big Apple 🍎 someday. One friend of mine told me that he stayed in Jersey City, because it was a little bit less expensive then NYC And that it was a 20 Minutes subway ride back and forth. He said a bud light cost him $10.. In a NYC Bar and back in Jersey City it cost him $4.00. anyway that some pros for someone that travels on a budget to THE BIG APPLE 🍎😊 Peace to you 😊🙃😊 keep making your You Tube Vedios .GO GIRL GO !

Norma, seen you in white Castle the other day, I said your name, like I knew you. The terror on your face though, was priceless, like who is the rather large Native American, who knows my name. Lol

Yeah, traffic is a Bitch around 52nd Street and Central Park, when i traveled New York i love to leave the Hotel on Sunday, and grab a big ole Hoogie and a tree, just to people watch. There used to be alot of Arcades on 7th, but i bet all that is gone now! Nice trip Norma
