I remember playing this on the hardest difficulty, I spent more time dying to this guy then every other boss and serious challenge. The gauntlet only took me like 5 runs to the end. But this guy was literally hours of cautious movements and resource management. Eventually, i managed it and the rest of the game felt easy by comparison. The irony of him thinking i couldn't kill him or Zeus and he literally was harder than Zeus is not lost on me.

He wasn't even hard to fight, you just had to understand the pattern and it was easy. The hard part was the minotaurs and the ice spikes he spawned, both can one shot you.

@MR Juggy I remember the medusa boss was hard up until I figured out the timing of her attacks. Theseus is still the hardest one in all the games, second to the scorpion in God of War III (considering the hardest difficulty of course)

To be honest, this guy had a better reason to think that he could defeat Kratos than anyone else. He was there to guard the Fates, the ones who literally decide what will and will not happen. If the Fates don't want to see you, you're not going to reach them... and the Fates haven't wanted to see anyone before. So, by all rights, fate would have been on his side... had the Fates not wanted to see Kratos.

Very interesting how Kratos _sort of_ tries to avoid fighting the mortal Greek heroes on his quest to kill God's, though he's also got no restraint after they throw the first punch 😂

That happens a lot with Kratos in the older games. Most of the time, it’s his adversaries who attacked first, once they did however, Kratos would kill them without a shred of remorse.
@Nyzer_
@Nyzer_ Жыл бұрын
@@ulyssesocounter8488 Makes sense, given that he comes from a society that glorifies battle. Granting mercy to a defeated opponent was likely not just seen as weak, but outright insulting. So now it's so ingrained into Kratos that he doesn't think twice about granting mercy to someone who chose to engage in combat. They weren't interested in listening to reason? Then they made their choice and he'll respect that.

Kratos was perfectly willing to let a lot of people live so long as they stayed out of his way, unless of course killing them helped serve his own cause. @@thealien_ali3382 Says the one using God of War in his argument. But my source comes from the Pseudo Apollodorus, and the selections on Herakles. In the Pseudo Apollodorus, Herakles performs the 12 labors which show his prowess and ability. Labors of Herakles: To get the skin of the Nemean Lion produced by Typhon: Travels to Nemea and tracks the lion, shoots it with a arrow and fails (invulnerable skin), he then produces his olive wood club and purses it to a cave with 2 entrances. He closes off one and enters the other putting the lion into a choke hold and choking it to death. For his labor Eurystheus would be amazed yet fearful, forbidding Herakles entry into the city, having him enjoy his rewards at the city gate. He also made a bronze jar for himself to hide under the earth, sending his commands through a herald, Copreus, son of Pelops the Elean. Slay the Lernean Hydra bred in the swamp of Lerna: It would go into the plains and ravage cattle and country. Huge body, nine heads, eight mortal but the middle one immortal. Herakles would mount a chariot that was driven by Iolaus to Lerna and would come across a hill where the Hydra rested besides the springs of the Amymone (den site). The Hydra would be drawn out by Herakles using flaming arrows where he would seize it holding it fast. The creature wraps around one of his feet and clings to Herakles. His club would prove ineffective as he when he smashed in one head two would grow up. A huge crab also takes part in the battle biting Herakles' foot, he would slay it. Herakles then called for Iolaus' (who came with him) to aid him who by setting fire to torches would burn the roots of the sprouting heads. Herakles then chopped off the immortal head, buried it and placed a heavy rock upon it. He then would slit the body of the Hydra to coat his arrows which he would use to slay centaurs later. To bring the Ceryntiian hind alive to Mycenae: it was at Oenoe, had golden horns and was sacred to Artemis. Herakles would hunt it a whole year seeking neither to kill or wound it. It would take refuge on the mountain Artemisius and then pass to the river Ladon. Herakles would shoot just as it would cross the stream and put it on his shoulders. Artemis and Apollo confront him and rebuke him for the attempt on the animal but Herakles puts the blame on Eurystheus appeasing the anger of the goddess and carrying the beast alive to Mycenae. To bring in the Erymanthian boar alive to Mycenae: ravaged Psophis sallying from the mountain of Erymanthus. After the encounter with the Centaurs Herakles proceeds to hunt the boar. Herakles chases it with shouts from “a certain thicket” driving it into deep snow trapping it and bringing it to Mycenae. Carry out the dung of the cattle of Augeas in a single day: Herakles would accost Augeas without revealing Eurystheus’ command and told him that he would carry out the dung in a day if Augeas gave him a tithe of the cattle. Augeas incredulously promised with his son Phyleus as witness. Herakles would make a breach in the cattle yard and divert the Alpheus and Peneus rivers to flush out the yard. But Augeas learned it was Eurystheus; command refused to pay the reward and denied even his promise of it and submitted himself to arbitration. Phyleus would be called as a witness by Herakles affirming that his father promised a reward. Augeas orders Herakles and his son to leave Elis. Chase away the Stymphalian Birds: Stymphalus in Arcadia was the lake called Stymphalian, within a deep wood. Countless birds flocked there for refuge and feared to be preyed upon by wolves.Athena enlightening a bewildered Herakles as to how to drive the birds away was given brazen castanets which she got from Hephaestus. By clashing them upon a certain mountain that overhung the lake he scared the birds for they could not abide the sound but fluttered up in a fright and Herakles would then shoot them. Bring the Cretan Bull to Mycenae: Some say it was the bull that ferried across Europa for Zeus others say it was the bull Poseidon sent up from the sea when Minos promised to sacrifice to Poseidon what should appear out of the sea. Minos would spare the bull for its beauty and sacrifice another, making Poseidon angry and making the bull savage. To attack it Herakles came to Crete, where in reply to his request for aid, Minos told him to fight and catch the bull for himself, he caught it and brought it to Eurystheus and having seen it let it go free. It would then roam to Sparta and all Arcadia and traversing the Isthmus arrived at Marathon in Attica harrying its inhabitants. Bring the mares of Diomedes the Thracian to Mycenae: Herakles with a band of volunteers and having overpowered the grooms who were in charge of the mangers, he drove the mares to the sea. When the Bistones came to the rescue, he committed the mares to the guardianship of Abderus who was a son of Hermes a native of Opus in Locris and a minion of Herakles. However the mares killed him by dragging him after them. Herakles fought against the Bistones, slew Diomedes and compelled the rest to flee. Herakles then founded a city Abdera beside the grave of Abderus who was killed. He would bring the mares to Eurystheus who would let them go. The mares would come to Mt. Olympus and would be destroyed by wild beasts. Bring the belt / girdle of Hippolyte: Herakles was sent to get the belt for it was the belt of Ares in token of her superiority to all the rest [amazons] and the daughter of Eurystheus (Admete) desired it. After a few adventures they arrived at Themyscira and received a visit from Hippolyte who inquired why he came and promised to give the belt over. However Hera in the likeness of an Amazon told the others Herakles wanted to steal their queen away so they charged him. Herakles, seeing the armed amazons, suspected treachery, killing Hippolyte and taking her belt, eventually giving it to Eurystheus. Fetch the kine of Geryon from Erythia: Eryhtia was an island near the ocean now called Gadira. Once inhabited by Geryon who had red kine. Having reached the island he lodged on Mt. Abas. However the dog [ Orthus, the two-headed hound begotten by Typhon and Echidna was the watchdog] perceiving him rushed at him and he smote it with his club and when the herdsman Eurytion came to the help of the dog Herakles killed him too. But Menoetes who was pasturing the Kine of Hades told Geryon what was going on and he came up with Herakles beside the river Anthemus as he was driving away the kine, joined in battle with Herakles who shot him dead. Herakles then embarked the kine and himself in the goblet and sailing across to Tartessus gave the goblet to the Sun. He would then pass through Abderia to Liguria meeting Ialebion and Dercynus sons of Poseidon who tried to rob him. He kills them both, eventually reaching Mycenae after a adventure where he would convey the kine and give them to Eurystheus who sacrificed them to Hera. Labors thus performed so far, [10] were done in 8 yrs and a month. Fetch the golden apples from the Hesperides: This was given because he did not acknowledge the labors of the cattle of Augeas or the Lernean Hydra. Apples were not in Libya but on Atlas among the Hyperboreans. Presented to Zeus by Earth after his marriage with Hera and guarded by a immortal dragon with a hundred heads offspring of Typhon and Enchida which spoke with many and divers sorts of voices. It was on guard with the Hesperides (Aegle, Erythia, Hesperia and Arethusa). With advice from Prometheus Herakles sends Atlas to get the apples while he holds the sky. Atlas upon getting the apples tells Herakles he will take them to Eurystheus and bade Herakles to hold up the sky in his stead. Herakles promised to do so but through cunning got Atlas to do it by asking Atlas (on advice from Prometheus) to hold up the sky till he should put a pad on his head. Atlas holds up the sky, Herakles takes the apples and walks off. However it is said Herakles instead got the apples himself after killing the guardian dragon/snake. Upon bringing them to Eurystheus, he would bestow them on Herakles from whom Athena would get them, conveying them back again for it was unlawful to lay them down anywhere.

after the third hit of Theseus in the first phase, you have a frame of a second, so you can instantly land olympic ascension on him (hold triangle) but not holding to rise in the air of course.
