Never thought I’d say this about someone before…but I think she could benefit from the armed forces of some type. She says she requires someone “making” her get up and keep up a routine etc, which she has now with her pimp, but also which her story about the boarding place in Utah corroborates with that. She seems like she thrives on an external force of structure and routine. The armed forces could provide that for her, in a legal way, and with much more traditional, safe, and sustainable benefits.

Yes! I realized that, having been in this life and having gone along with psychos and abusers to save my life, I ended up having a hard time seeing red flags in relationships later. You’ve got to have those red flags to warn you when something isn’t normal and you’re in danger, but if you show that you notice that on the streets, people figure you’re a loose end. So I just learned to act like things were normal and just lost that whole intuitive sense. I read a good book about that by a woman who survived being attacked and raped when she was traveling with another woman, who was killed. She ended up being a reporter in war zones because she was able to ignore her trepidation about walking into places like that and interviewing people. Of course, I just ended up with a bunch of psychological baggage, LOL. No, I hope my non-reactivity will help me with a career in counseling, since it will help me not to act as though I’m judging people. Having had a crazy background, I can’t tell you how many counselors can’t hide that they are actually shocked by what you’re saying.

I took *AS PRESCRIBED* & *STILL* became addicted! Anyway, I’m sure there *is* more to her story, just like there is more to mine..it involves trauma from an abusive relationship. It could be an attachment disorder. We don’t know how her parents developed their attachment with her and vice versa. with the best will in the world, great adoptive parents, great bio parents etc adoption still has a huge impact on a person's life. @@BostonBorn That's totally not true and very ignorant. I am in recovery 7 years and believe me I had my ass kicked out there and when I was ready to stop I stopped and stayed stopped. You're correct about one thing, an addict will not stop using until they are ready, that's the way it works in addiction. However, nobody is a "lost cause" until they take their last breath. I've seen people a thousand times worse than her and then have seen them years later, totally sober and clean, living a normal lifestyle and speaking in a manner that does not sound like a schizophrenic lunatic like before. Their personality has changed, it is truly a miracle when you see it in person. I don't think I had a big personality change, I've always been who I am however when an addict is ready to quit, in my experience they are so disgusted by it like I was that they just can't go back, it's just not possible in our minds so that's where the drug works on you is in your mind and your mind is a powerful tool, thank God or I wouldn't be here today.

Sway appears on the outside to be a well-spoken young lady. On the other hand I don't think she is really happy with what she's doing but with a lack of life experience and education this is about all she can do. I don't think anyone in prostitution can really say that they have self-esteem because if you did you'd look at a way out. If she's wearing "blinders" when she's out then she's definitely not happy., and she doesn't make eye contact when she talks. And although it is a messed up situation to find that sense of purpose... once you reach a certain age - people don't care anymore. There isn't anywhere (that I know of) that consists of adults pushing other adults to be better. Most of the time... it's "you're an adult, figure it out yourself." &for those who aren't capable of that... it's a rough road.
