I saw what you posted and I found a video of Derek telling that story. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mJuImc51rpOqoqc.html who can argue, when your full of word - the word does heal the body.

On accountability advice issues I find I have to tick some boxes. You should be praying constantly. You should be infusing yourself with His word. Meditating but a better word would be marinate on His word. You could have a mentor that you can speak to. Pick someone that has succeed in the same struggle. If you are having a conflict in you your heart and mind and are unsure, then pick the person who displays love and wisdom but who you think would give you the hardest time.

What you're talking about is ideal, but it just doesn't happen. As far as mentors. Being adopted into a family you'd need courage and love to both receive and lend. I just haven't seen it. I'm 49 now if I'm being honest I didn't have mentors I accepted the Lord young, started working young, graduated highschool and have walked alone with the Lord pretty much since than. Never had children and to date have never been married. Whatever foundation has been established has been established on the school of hard knocks. By the grace of God I sought wisdom early. And made it this far on God's providence and provision. But kudos to those who have had a taste of a different life. To those who know power in numbers and family traditions. But to the rest of us who feel like we're on the outer fringe. We're not really alone. No not really. I can vouch for that. For I've learned to entirely depend on God. And have experienced him many times in the hardest most hopeless times of my life so that I never felt the full impact of grief or pain or hardship.
