Update I no longer have the scph-75001 PS2 slim, it stopped working.

I watched my life in gaming video about PS2 hardware that was an hour long. In it they say that earlier slim models are backwards compatible with the hardware to run PS1 games. Then they say later slim models are not but achieve it via built in emulation. I just got a silver refurbished model with new laser for $60.00. It works like a charm. It's a 790001 model from 07. I have a black one that is a 70,000 model however the specification sticker is no where on it. I checked the date and between the both of them there's 3 numbers formed in this circle pattern. The number on the left is the only one that's different. On the black it says 06. The silver says 07. So can anyone shed light on the fact I heard in the video I mentioned previously? Also what's. The difference between my 2 models capabilities and performance wise?

That's fine, I had a 90001 model before (Silver) but somehow I lost it. And I'm not sure if they have heating problems but I did hear about AC adapter problems (the DC adapter not the power jack on the PS2 slim).

is the SCPH-75001 model 1080p? because some ps2 slim consoles on ebay, are listed as 480p while others say 1080p. or FHD. i wanna get a ps2 slim (us). hopefully 1 that is 1080p

Which one should I get to replace a 70006? A 75001 or a 50004 FAT? I'm leaning towards FAT one because of HDD bay and PS1 hardware.

My model is 79001 is that a good model? I've been experiencing a weird thing in Xenosaga Episode 1 Sometimes it makes a scratch sound. But only when bringing up the developers logos. But plays perfectly. I kept removing it and putting it back in to see if it is the disc The disc is dual layered. But it's the only game doing that. I'd reset after booting the start up screen asking to load a file Press reset, remove the disc out it back in tightly so it's not loose so it will read. Sometimes a scratch sound sometimes not. It's not in a circle the scratch looks like a long slash only visible in the light. And minor comma shaped scratches Am I worrying too much? I wanna play my trilogy of Xenosaga without fear of ruining my Xenosaga 3 discs as they have gotten EXPENSIVE. Is there something wrong or should I STOP removing it and putting back in?

Would you know which PS2 Slim model doesn't have the fault were the ribbon cable becomes unstuck and damages discs? I have had two 70000 models that have had this issue.

With the 79001 you don’t have to worry about the ribbon scratching the disc because they have clips holding it down right?

my 79001 stopped working out of the blue. After storage in a closet for a long time it won't boot up. when I plug in the power cord the power light won't even turn on. Do you know what I can do to troubleshoot or fix this problem?

The fan was completely unnecessary on that ps2 because it didn't heat up, also makes more waste of energy and makes it heavier, to make a better electronic device is better not to have a fan.
