This was useful. Controller just came apart with screws removed. No prying really required. The battery however was swollen. So im glad i discovered it before it went pop. New battery in and working straight away.

My Dualshock 4 battery bought on the PS4 Pro release date, have been working excellent & strong ever since the release date. Not until recently i noticed battery only lasting a day or so. Extremely happy with the strong performance through the years. Also want to point out i am using the 3.5 inch plug to run a couple of AKG MK2 240 studio phones through the DualShock 4, as idont have a stereo system. So battery is being pushed pretty much to the max! 👍

Took mine apart and the triggers popped out. Little fiddly springs that were a pain to get back in. Mines a different model obviously but not sure what model, but the battery model was LIP 1522... so if you might have same model you might want to have some tweezers to hand, and maybe a second pair of hands! Might be another vid on that model but good luck

I wonder what the case is with the new original Pads, not unpacked, the so-called: - The battery, despite not being used from new, can break down or you have to activate it, turn it on, connect it to charge after taking it out of the box and only then it can break down without charging hmm

I tried disconnecting the battery from the board gently, but then the white connector port on the board itself fully came off. I had a hard time getting the connector out of the port even after it had fully detached. So it was a lost cause from the start, I guess. 😕

I’ve had the 2015 version of PS4 I’ve watched your video. I can’t restore default it says “error, when I try to rebuild database, it gets stuck at 30% and when it’s done after 20-50 minutes it says “Cannot restart PS4” and starts all the way over.
