Although I prefer the disc base models, the PSP Go was so far ahead of its time back at launch. It’s a great machine with CFW on it and many PSP games are still very playable today.

The PSP would have been my favorite handheld before I put Android 10 on my Switch. Access to the playstore, apps, Netflix, Spotify, remote play (PS4 & PC), emulators, makes wish this was the handheld given to us initially. Everything I ever wanted in a handheld. I'm hoping it's a sign of potential things to come for future handhelds.

The design and aesthetic are absolutely lovely, makes it compelling to get one. However almost anything it can do, the Vita can do as well if not better, aside from things like sliding mechanisms, so that'd be my pick for something that's all around for both emulation and games on its own platform.

It's a god-tier device for PSX gaming. Granted, not all games are compatible with it but most are. One of its coolest features is that it outputs native 240p for PSX games via the component cables. Most devices don't do that. You'll need a decent CRT for the full effect but it's a great route to go if you have the gear. It also supports bluetooth and you can sync a Dual Shock 3 to it if you have a PS3. Really neat handheld.

I change the battery by myself and was very easy onestly, I have 32gb memory on my psp-go because i put en extra 16gb m2card, and now i have a very big list of my favorite games on it, iclouding: PSP, PS1, GBA, NES, SNES, MEGADRIVE, and also 15 ScummVM games wich i love it 😁. I'm still looking for an official sony n340 dock, but at moment just using a dualshock3 and a component cable TV (absolutely cheaper), i have changed this handled console in something more and super cool. In my opinion it is still one of the best handled console, specially if you think it's already 12 years old!!

I LOVE the look of the psp go.y favorite handheld of all time is the vita. I never owned one till like a year and a half ago. I'm incredibly glad I did. Now I have 2 of them lol. Gonna grab a go from my pawn shop as well. It's only $80

aw man my parents actually bought me this thing in 2009 because i wanted a psp so they just went and got the newest one without realizing that it couldn’t play disk games! i still had a lot of fun with it though, the size and shape of it are really satisfying and it’s nice to hold. i actually sold it last year for $100ish since i didn’t use it anymore and i still had the original box. but i would’ve kept it if i had known i could reuse it as an emulator tbh

Awesome use of the PSP Go in 2021..

I really like the small form factor. If it's anything like holding a gba sp, then it's a win. A big problem with the switch is that it's portable but not practical to carry. I miss the days where smaller handhelds just fit in your hand. It might be cramped, but that doesn't bother me as someone who loved the gameboy and gba sp that were trashed for being cramped as well.

I found one of these at a yard sale for 5$. BEST INVESTMENT EVER! I absolutely love this thing. 😁

I would completely agree if for the price they are going for you can get a laptop, a wii, 2ds, or even a vita (sometimes) that can play the same or more. But I do adore the form factor.

I own literally every retro handheld there is. Everything from the new tiny Funkey S to some 7 inch screens and I rarely use anything but my PSP GO. It does everything near perfect if not perfect. Easy config. I even have two brand new in the box back ups when my main one goes. It's the PERFECT size. Funkey S and 280V are just too small. 5 & 7 inch screens are just too big to pocket. They're clunky due to the dual analog sticks. PSP GO is the original retro handheld and I've been trying to convince people for years to get one but now they're getting kind of expensive again.

Thank you for this video. I just recovered mi PSP Go last weekend from my parents' home, and was unsure if I could get something out of it. Lucky for me, everything was there: an almost unused console, all the cables, a soft pouch with zippers and even the dock! What emulators can I install in the PSP? Do you know what happens if I have original games and install custom firmware?

Ps vita is highly underlooked

The PSP GO that I have, has signed emulators on it so I don't need CFW. And it still plays them pretty well. Just wish I could still use the store... But that's what my PS3 is for.

I think the vita is better than the go in almost every way except for the size and even then the vita, especially the slim, are very easily pocketable

mhh in 2019 id say yes but now with all the china handhelds its just not worth it anymore unless to play psp games itself. dont get me wrong i have a psp go and also a vita but both of them have too big flaws to use them as daily driver and now theyre sitting in my shelf. i even play psp games on my nintendo switch because the graphics just look gorgeous compared to vita or psp. the only first party handhelds which are worth it in 2021 are switch with cfw or new 2ds xl imo. then there are the anbernic devices who play everything up to ps1 perfect and dont need that much of tinkering to be really usable like the psp. but best stock ui is still the psp xmb.
