No one in the world can say they would do any differently if they were in your position. Glad you’ve recovered, so long as you’ve learnt from you addiction/experience then it’s ok. I have this issue.. I started as a teen with alcohol. My dad is an alcoholic and it runs in the family on both sides.. I became addicted to opioids at 20, and stopped drinking and everything so I could afford to keep myself in pills.. I went cold turkey and got clean about five years ago, after 14 years on opioids, and started drinking immediately! I quickly realized I was trading one addiction for another, and drinking was much worse on my personality.. I ended up relapsed on opioids, but I'm going to methadone doctor now.. I noticed after all this I'm still an alcoholic under the opioids, I just don't drink! Being on opioids I never feel like drinking, I can go to a bar and drink half a beer and leave .. when I'm clean off opiates I craved alcohol! I can't win.. all I know is next time I get clean, hopefully the last, I can't drink or do any drug anymore, only weed!

@@soviet2054 Someone can feel ashamed (noun) themselves, without other people needing to shame (verb) them to get there... And him being able to look back on this and know it was wrong, with the maturity he has, is a huge sign of self-improvement. The act of shaming someone is often to create self-awareness in that person, for them to feel ashamed and change their behavior. Clearly he's already self-aware enough to feel ashamed, so further shaming is completely unnecessary. It's already served its purpose.

One of the strangest things I've ever experienced is the psychological dependence on cannabis. I think people sometimes underestimate it as a substance, just like alcohol. Very well said. I ran dry recently and felt like it was the end of my happiness. What got me through work was thinking about smoking when I got home. After a rough few days of being severely depressed, my life started to radically improve, memory was better, I was less reclusive, I trusted my speech more, I felt less anxious.
@Matt-qy7po
@Matt-qy7po 4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely agree, I know quite a few people who insist that there are no downsides and it's completely safe to be smoking multiple times a day. Then I see them trying to go a day or two without and they aren't enjoying anything even with friends because all they think about is, 'would be a lot more fun with some weed'. I've experienced this myself in a mild way if I spend a few days in a row high I won't be able to stop thinking about wanting to be high.
@ArachnosMusic
@ArachnosMusic 4 жыл бұрын
Idk, I vaped weed and ate edibles a week nearly non stop with my girl before going home to my parents. They don't mind me smoking weed but I've run out and I'm too lazy to get more, which I guess shows how there is absolutely no dependence? I do have to say there are a lot of things which are more enjoyable when being high (or stoned); listening to music, watching simple and funny shows, sex (sometimes), going outside. But then at the same time there are many things which are less fun when high (or at least definitely when stoned); watching more intriguing shows or movies, playing video games, also sex, studying. Furthermore, even though some things are more fun with weed, they are still fun without it. Personally I rarely feel the need to compare fun experiences since I feel like this only deducts from the fun, so in that sense it doesn't affect me much. I feel like it'd be impossible for me to become dependent on weed, personally.

Being honest, I've never heard about kratom tho. Guess we should say it's basically synthetic heroin or something really similar, right ?
@mikesully110
@mikesully110 3 жыл бұрын
@@brunosantiago8961 It's not really synthetic heroin as such, it is classed as an opioid because it does work on the opioid receptors just lik heroin does. But it also acts on many other receptors too, some think it works on serotonin just like the anti-depressants do. So it has many different effects. Kratom is safer than Heroin but it doesn't hit anywhere near as hard, and the euphoria is much much less. So mostly, Kratom is used to help with Heroin withdrawals - it will take away a lot of the pain, and you can taper down on Kratom a lot easier than you can with Heroin. With Heroin there is always the temptation to end your taper and just get high with a fat shot. But with Kratom, you can't take huge amounts to get high - after a certain amount, maybe 6 grams for some, you just feel ill and light headed if you take more. So it stops you ramping up a huge tolerance. There is withdrawals from Kratom, but these withdrawals are much milder than Heroin withdrawals Well, physically anyway - some say the mental withdrawals from high dose Kratom use can be awful - like withdrawing from an anti-depressant as well. But the physical detox is a lot less - you're not hunched over in pain, throwing up all day, covered in sweat, slapping your thighs to help the pain. It's more a depressive, anxious, dizzy withdrawal. Anyway if you've never touched any drug, you can still easily get addicted to Kratom. One of my friends started on his opioid career by getting hooked on Kratom. He says he tried it one day not thinking it was all that dangerous, he loved the high which was like an opioid high and an anti-depressant effect in one (kind of like a stronger tramadol) - and he got hooked on it. He went on holiday and couldn't bring his Kratom, so he left it behind not thinking much about it. And he ended up in bad withdrawals on this holiday, it ruined the holiday for him. Anyway he got back and the kratom stopped working because his tolerance got too high. So he switched to Dihydrocodeine - his tolerance got too high on that now, so he uses Oxycodone. Now the oxycodone has low stock, he is tempted to try Heroin. So you can easily get hooked on Kratom.

On a happier sidenote: Just had my first (albeit mild) DMT trip in a while! Realisation: It's absolutely ridiculous this substance is illegal. It literally makes no sense in my mind at all. All this substance does is make you realise your oneness with the world, universe etc (you've heard it all before). But mannnnn does it get on my nerves it's illegal. Okay rant over I'm gonna go come down some more in the shower. Have a great day/night/whatever guys 👍

@TheHomeofDubstep
@TheHomeofDubstep 4 жыл бұрын
@@mgmorgan0223 That experience in itself? I couldn't help but feel the oneness with everything then the realisation of that almost anyone who tries DMT reports the exact same feeling and that led to mass amounts of euphoria, I think because I realised that there are other people out there who have experienced the same thing and therefore 'know' because if everyone knew, well the world would be a much much better and happier place. That then led to the disappointment and confusion as to why the substance is illegal and actually really frustrated me, it has for a long time, it still does now and will continue to until it is legalised. Don't get me wrong, things can go wrong with DMT, as it can with anything, but I (and many others) know for a fact these substances have the power to transform not just society but humanity as a whole.

I've been addicted to alcool, nicotine, GHB, amphetamines, exctasy pills, dextromethorphan, codein, steroïds, sleeping pills, methamphetamines.... and after my rehab in 2017, i started to take psychedelics (mushrooms, lsd, dmt), and thats the reason why i'm still clean. Thank you psychedelics!

Jtone Philthy the dose and how often u take it depends on each person... for me the perfect dose is 150-200ug (lsd) and 3g of shrooms (but this also depends on the shrooms) for a perfect spiritual/enlightening trip but when u do it for the first time i would say 100ug lsd or 1-2g of shrooms. When u do those kinds of trips make sure u have a trip sitter(a person u love and trust), a perfect environment (nature, few to non humans) and time (2 days free, one for the trip and one to reflect the trip). So this trips u shouldn’t do more than once in 2 months. ... When u wanna microdose than u have to find your dose... my lsd microdose is around 25-50ug lsd but many friends from me take less than 20 for microdosing. I don’t tried microdosing shrooms yet so i can’t tell u bout that... u can do microdosing way more often than higher doses but try it a few times before u can decide how ofte u will take it in a month... normally when u microdose u can do everything of your everyday life (sometimes even better;) ) so u can do it multiple times a month... but because of the tolerance (2 weeks) u have dose higher for the same effect.
