I'll teach you how to rebuild your carburetor to fix a machine that won't start or runs rough. Special Japanese Screw driver set from video → amzn.to/2pJPSRl
Remember ethanol gas can dissolve many plastic and rubber components found in small engine carburetors. Be sure to remove all fuel from the carburetor before storing equipment. Running it out of gas can accomplish this.
Carburetor kit for Vittorazi, Stihl, McCulloch and many other brands → amzn.to/33BImt7
B-12 Chemtool spray used in the video → amzn.to/2pwyXRq
K10-WB Carburetor Kit for under $20! I paid $35! → amzn.to/2qkFBrQ
Watch tools kit → amzn.to/2qhyNhi
Torque seal paint (green) → amzn.to/2piBVIw

Great Video. The JIS comment is a great add to the video. I have several, 21, different motorcycles I own and work on. I am a former MM and can now work on motorcycles for a hobby, the fun is back! I to use B-12 as a cleaning agent as well, It works great, I buy it by the case. You might add that the addition of Marvel Mystery oil and Stay-bil to the fuel will keep it from souring over the winter. I also add a bit of Star Tron enzyme additive that insures good fuel over time and with 21 bikes reducing needed carb cleans is a must. Thanks again, James.

I have a friend who's known as Sataman on KZfaq. I haven't seen him on KZfaq in a while, but he sells JIS screws on his eBay through a tool company that Eric O really likes too. He emails me by the name of Dennis N Schmidt. Check him out. I give him this shout out because I'm grateful he taught me about JIS screw drivers and screws. JIS will work on American screws better than American screwdrivers will on JIS. After I got them, I stopped stripping screws all the time, especially on Japanese vehicles.

As a small engine repair guy,most of the repairs I do are gasoline related. Ethanol destroys the diphragm in small engines as well as the rubber tipped float needles and the little seat in most lawn mowers. I get a bunch of free mowers because of crappy fuel.

Hi Brian, Thanks again for sharing your video, so much help! I'm doing my 25 hour maintenance on my 185 plus this week. According to the user manual I'm supposed to check and clean the carburetor. Do I need to remove the cover and diaphragm at this point or is that going to damage it? Any advice is very much appreciated!

Hi Brian - I'm just finding the throttle spring on my Moster is a bit tight/stiff, and as I use the Cameleon throttle I like to loosen it a bit. Any advice on how to do this? Would I have to get a smaller spring from somewhere and pull it apart to replace? Any other ideas here....
@ShainAndrews
@ShainAndrews 7 жыл бұрын
Many carburetor rebuild kits now contain E85 rated components. Fuel lines should be inspected. No fuel lines should just get replaced. Make sure the replacement fuel lines are also E85 rated. Ethanol can also play havoc with the metal components causing significant corrosion. Some carburetors have a protective coating to prevent this. Don't go too nuts on the cleaning phase (doubt any off the shelf aerosol cleaners would damage the coating.)
@csabi72
@csabi72 7 жыл бұрын
E85 is far better to the engine then gasoline! It's not going to do any harm. I don't know where you get the idea...

Hi man, do you recommend an engine flush for an Audi A4 with 120 miles on it. It's a 1.6 engine Eu model and I've changed all the spark plugs and found out that 2 had oil deposits on them. Changed all four plugs since I got an engine check light, guess two of them weren't firing. Wanted to do a flush since my car is eating oil, like 1 quart between oil changes and I don't drive much like 3000-4000 km per year. Will it hurt to do a flush? I'm thinking to change oil and filter, get some cheap oil plus a new filter, do the flush and change the oil with a quality one.
@briansmobile1
@briansmobile1 7 жыл бұрын
Can I make a video on that and use your comment? That oil on your plug is un burned gasoline from them not lighting it off well enough.
@briansmobile1

Flushing with chemicals should be a last resort to a full engine tear down based on costs and budget and is best done in conjunction with an oil pan removal.
@SacreDro
@SacreDro 7 жыл бұрын
Sure man, I will do a compression test anyway to see if the pistons are worn or not and if so I will do an engine flush anyway because I'm planning to do a engine rebuild anyway, so I'm taking the risk.

I wish! I'm embarrassed to answer. My work area has been a disaster. Just functioning as a KZfaqr since I've moved is killing me. My uphill neighbors landscaped their yard like a funnel to wash out where my studio was to have been built 18 months ago. I've re graded it 7-8 times in repair. So I've slowly been morphing my "temporary" situation of chaos to work better. I've never been so disorganized in my life. I lost the notes. My memory says it's on Engine health check, but it could be radio install basics, wire splices/load & protection, Electrical fundamentals, no start diag, or what happens if I over fill oil. Please remind me?

It was in regards to why an engine uses the amount of oil it does. Sounds like a rough time mate! Can't exactly build it on stilts either can you. Ag pipe and lots of gravel in strategic places may very well help.

Requires twicet the skills of a brain surgeon and a rocket scientist put together. A mixed metaphor. The two phrases to indicate smartness level are in common use in the USA so if you are not from there and run across the saying and especially the mixed metaphor making fun of the guy who can't even get it straight, it often makes no sense at all.
