PLOT: Depression-era bank robber John Dillinger's (Johnny Depp) charm and audacity endear him to much of America's downtrodden public, but he's also a thorn in the side of J. Edgar Hoover (Billy Crudup) and the fledgling FBI. Desperate to capture the elusive outlaw, Hoover makes Dillinger his first Public Enemy Number One and assigns his top agent, Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale), the task of bringing him in dead or alive.

Johnny Depp, and Christan Bale absolutely nailed their roles, Amazes me how underrated the film is, truly never gets the credit it deserves. Watch it yourself, well worth it, nothing worth spoiling, espically the end scene. What a scene though

Even when Public Enemies is not at the same level as Heat or Collateral you have to admit Michael Mann is always the man (not pun intended) directing action scenes

Yeah they should have robbed more bank's just 3 in the whole film is kind of a let down in heat it works.... Just not a film about BANK ROBBERS they should have cut the love down between John and Billy and added more heist..

This scene would be tactical if the investigators preconceived of what to do if gunshots erupted. We already know armed fugitives would fire first, snd the toughest situation is one where communication is cutoff.

This was a great film but they should have cut the love down a lil more between Billy and Dillinger and added more robbery Babyface was perfect that's how he was even the story was off actually babyface was the last 2 die even pretty boy lives longer he died in October ohh we'll we got a film so that's koo..... Thinking it's time 4 another mabe Nelson, prettyboy, Bonnie and Clyde was perfectly done ....
