Donald Curry was my favorite boxer for a brief period in mid-eighties. He was a silky smooth technician in the ring. And he seemed unbeatable. Most people don't remember him or don't know how good he was during that period. It was always a mystery as to why his career went bad so quickly.

Oh some of us know the mystery: He was BURNED OUT by his Team/Managers who were well known for their Amateur success. They weren't savvy in the professional game. They allowed him to fight 400+ FIGHTS (Insanity!!) Nobody is gonna have a long pro shelf life with that background. He could've been brought in early and been a champ for 5yrs +

D.C. the Jokester. 😂 I was in my teens to early 20s during his heyday. Didn't get to see any fights. My cousins in Fort Worth used to always talk about his greatness. Going back now to see what I missed so that I can appreciate it more.

That left hook that crashed Milton mccrory to the canvas was pitch perfect a thing of beauty then the brutal right hand that finished mccrory off was one of the most devastating kos in boxing history. The ko wins over Milton mccrory and nino la Rocca was amazing and beating Marlon starling twice showed the greatness in hall of famer the Lonestar cobra donald curry

He was a really good fighter, very balanced. Stayed at welterweight too long though - and I'm British so the Honeyghan win was a great one from my perspective.

Donald was always one of my favorite fighters. I was glad to see him in a interview and happy that he is a Hall of Fame fighter....When he was champion..I always wanted to see him fight Marvin Hagler and Ray Leonard....And guess what,I Believe he would have beat Leonard.

The Lone Star Cobra is alive at the time, he has his freedom, and he has something to show for himself. Can you afford to buy your mother a $435,000 house? Nope! The Cobra bought one for his mother.

A terrible interview. The interviewer was totally unprepared. The McCrory fight was not Donald Curry's first title fight. He should also learn how to properly say Lloyd Honeyghan's name . He didn't even discuss any of his toughest opponents like Marlon Starling, Michael Nunn,Terry Norris or Nino La Rocca. I was looking forward to this as Curry is very reclusive.

A prime Curry would've beaten Ray Leonard. I remember when Leonard lost to a lightweight named Roberto Duran. FACT! Also, Curry had the guts to fight Mike McCallum. Leonard? He pretended McCallum didn't exist. FACT!
