I've noticed you using what I think is a black mountain dipping bar for inverted rows in your upper back video. What do you think about that piece of equipment for dips and do those particular grips give the inverted row a different effect on the muscle? Thanks love the channel, it's my favorite one for fitness advise.

I have a TrapezeRigging pull-up bar (from the US) which is made from aluminium tubing. I use it indoors mainly when the weather is too bad to go out. There's a fair bit of wobble but I can just about get a muscle up on it if I go slow but wouldn't trust it for anything dynamic. I improve stability by putting a builders bag of sand on each end of the supports. TrapezeRigging are great to deal with and even made me some custom top bars.

hi, I started exercising at 70 years old. If you are investing into Pull Up Mate, I suggest to start with the parallel bars (I had to cut it down to 39 inches bcoz of my height of 5 ft 7 inches). Its a lot of fun. Then you can add the pull up mate later. thx EdA

Had mine for about 6 months, very convenient if you have limited space, have mine in my bedroom. You can also use the base of the pull up bar parallettes for handstand/HSPU work. The dip bars are trash but I found my grip was more taxes with this than with other bars, maybe the diameter is bigger than average??

Glad to hear Bradley. I'll be also reviewing another bar within this month (depends when it arrives). It's a bit more expensive but I've heard good words about it. So keep that in mind in case you want to wait a bit more before deciding to make a purchase. This is their website if you want to have a peak trapezerigging.com/

So for pull-ups would you recommend going in more closer to the bar, inside where the bars are holding it, or outer, outside where the bar is holding it.

I weigh anywhere from 170-185 usually and do weighted pull ups with 25 lbs - 75 lbs. Is that okay for this? I really need a pull up bar because I use a tree branch.
@robertsonno1529
@robertsonno1529 8 жыл бұрын
I like it. I don't mind the stability issue but wonder if there is any possibility of the uprights eventually breaking off from the base. Also the bar is very shiny. I feel my hands are about to slip off sometimes and on wide grip pull ups I have to keep my thumbs underneath. With thumbs on top my hands slip inwards and the inside of my thumbs press hard against the 'neutral grip bars'. The inside of my right thumb has been quite numb for over 2 weeks and I think this was the cause. Overall, very handy product.

Hi. I recently moved to a very small studio apt. no doors to use pull up bars and not enough space for towers. What do you think about resistance bands? Can you get proper workout/progression from them? Can they be a substitute for pull ups and chin ups?

I've been considering the Pull up mate for the last couple of weeks, but was concerned that it looked a bit wobbly and rather wide for dips. Seems to be confirmed here, so now I'm looking for something better. I have a group exercise studio (not a weights gym) and am looking to be able to add dips and pull ups to the circuit classes. I have no spare space, so it needs to be very portable or wall or preferably ceiling mounted. The wall composition is sketchy, but not out of the question, but the ceiling is solid concrete. Do have have any recommendations?

Hey Anthony, what problems may a dip station with less than 57 cm of width cause? The one I have right now is 50cm wide, though I'm also not all that tall (1.69m), shouls I be concerned?
@BodyweightMuscle
@BodyweightMuscle 8 жыл бұрын
That won't be such a problem. Mostly too wide lengths are the problem. So you're fine, only thing that can be a bit limiting is that you'll get more tricep activation vs chest activation, in comparison with 57cm
@Venitius
@Venitius 7 жыл бұрын
Hey! I've just seen that they upgraded the station and it looks much more stable. They say that the gap between bars is now 60cm but I'm not sure this specs refers to the width between the 2 dip legs. I ordered it so I'll check it out myself. Is it really bad to do dips with 60cm of width ?

Elite pull up bar from trapeze rigging. Not coloured, comes with a stabalizer bar plus better dip grips which can be used for neutral grip pull ups too. Only downside, $350 USD on Amazon. Costly, still some movement but less with the stabalizer bar, seems extremely solid though. Holds up to 300lb for us heavier people too, so like 135kg, better for some lighter weight folks with weighted chins too.

He never mentions how tall it is! If you're 6ft it's probably going to be too low to the ground to do a standing pull-up without having to cross your legs, which I find incredibly annoying & the problem with 99% of these Pull Up Bar devices. That & they're insanely over priced for what's essentially a bunch of metal parts you have to assemble.
