Putting back on the rails a derailed locomotive

In the evening of January 17 2014 due to a theft of a parts from the railway track between the stations Yana and Musachevo near Sofia, a freight train derailed heavy. Probably a group of gypsies have made the theft.
In the next two days many railway workers are doing everything possible to get back on the track the locomotive - class 06 in BDZ. On the video a heavy Takraf crane and a pack of railway workers are trying to put back on the rails the engine which weights above 110 t.
Unfortunately the battery of my cell phone goes down and I can't catch on video the entire operation of the lifting.

It struck me that nobody had a hard hat on and missed other safety items. I don't want to go overboard that you need goggles when you drill a small hole in the wall, but this was serious. Still was an interesting video and thanks for staying around even when the battery was running low.

Lack of safety precautions at almost all times, no one should go under when it is jacked-up with cables. Not even simple PPE like hard hats. Tug wires should be used to align back on the track, not by personally go near to tug back on rails when the loco is suspended. Human lives should be of top priority against all machines.

Wow, that's a laborious task, those guys did a good job though. I can't believe someone would steal parts from a rail track; that's pretty low considering the wreck could cost lives...

This did look scary to me at moments. There is a lack of lifting capacity, equipment and proper procedures to do the job in a safe way. On several moments the locomotive suddenly moves and is likely to fall over on people standing near it. They could have done this work safe with the one crane with far more wood to prop up the locomotive, and having the hook straight above the lifting points as well. Instead of lifting that one end up all the way, they should have done it a bit at a time, first leveling the locomotive out and then bring it up to rail level, after each lift putting more material under it. When at rail level you can start to swing one end out above the track, put it on and proceed with the other end. But indeed, this is the way its done over there untill someone dies.

I was wondering the only real practical way to re-rail a derailed train is using a crane. But i would imagine the only practical way to get a crane out to a train in a reasonable amount of time is to have the crane bolted to some service train. What i am getting at is i don't think one just drives the crane like an ATV out there in most cases. (it to arrives by track)

@IvoRadoev

The loco derailed, because there were missing parts from the track. The boom lift of the crane isn't long enough to serve the whole weight of the loco, so that's why they can't lift it without risking a crane damage.

I feel way to much focus on the loco and really little on the crane as a whole. At one point around 4m on it became obvious the guys in right foreground were looking and pointing towards lower part of crane. My guess was outrigger was sinking under the load. Sadly not filmed. By 4.39 out of the 14.51 video I gave up watching. If you ever get to film another rerailing with similar crane please show more of the whole setup... Like how close was crane, what padding if any was under the outrigger pads, was the crane anchored to the rails with the jaw dogs and turn buckles? ETC.

Generally, the railway tracks in Bulgaria are not in good condition. But in that case really there were missing parts which are holding the rails to the sleepers. The driver of the train said that in a section of more than 100-150 m all of the bolts, nuts and other parts which are holding the rails were missing! And when the train has entered in this section, the rails just began to bend.

Now lets see how Germany would have done a similar thing! They´d have that Thing back on the rails in abour an hour. Or even less-

probably ten minutes whit the right crane and spreaderbars. (crane in the video could not lift it the first time due to the way the crane was placed, ) < in that kind off country's you have to work whit what you have, But a bigger spreader bar would have caused less damage to the cab) < and a lot less off directors would have helped to Lol, fact is, they got it back on track.., whit no one killed, thats a mirical in thefirst place! lol .

120t locomotive sitting 3m below rails in angle 45° and little bigger tramway (approx 20t) sitting on top of earthwork, You are right, that is really same situation. But yes, they could be next time thing a little about safety too.

Why mention "Probably a group of gypsies have made the theft." Either you know they did and you mention it, or you are not sure and than you should not point a finger to a group of people.

I'm not sure at 100%, that's why I wrote "probably". I have not seen the group that have made the theft. I am not an eyewitness of the theft, but gypsies are these that make such kind of problems for the railways. So, let's say that I'm at 99% sure that the problem came from a group of gypsies.
