I liked your answer about not wanting to be an airline pilot. I dreamed of being an airline pilot but in my early 20s realised I didn’t want to spend my life in a hotel and doing legs back and forth. Now I’m planning to do my PPL this year and have fun flying small planes :)

Did my PPL in George SA (Eastern Cape) in 1998 at a school called "Cape Flying Services". Went there with my young self, my young first wife and two little boys. Once I got my PPL we flew up to Namibia and just all over the place. Went back to Denmark and did 23 years of officework, one more wife and three more kids. I still fly from Roskilde in Denmark. I allways wonder what my life would have been like if we had stayed in SA and I had kept flying. My dream was to do what Bambi wants to do (Though not helis. Yikes) But hey, its not all bad - love my five kids and my brand new DA 40 NG should be delivered this summer. GO for it Bambi! You are so wonderfully full of life. The young man is nice too.

Love your videos and am always a little bit sad when each one comes to the end. Then, I have to wait for the next one. Thanks for sharing these adventures. I hope there are many more to come!

"Networking is so important." This is so true! Your best asset is contact information to people you meet. My network has helped me finding jobs, finding places to live, etc. And sometimes can I pay back by helping others. The aviation world is small, and you never know who you will meet around the next corner.

I soloed on my 15th Birthday in a Schweitzer 222 I got my 1st solo check on my 8th flight and was informed I'd have to wait till I was 15 to solo I'm 73 and just got my medical release from my Dr.

Just wanted to say, you have quality content and all of us that helped to fund you are not just helping you out, but we are getting something awesome out of it too! I wish I started flying when I was younger.....I almost started in 2010. I would have had a bunch of neat adventures before we had kids. A decade later (2020) I decided to get my PPL and with the little ones we can't do a lot of travel anymore. So It's fun watching you all and other content creators have these trips that I'm probably going to have to wait another decade to start having!

15:12: I've seen the same thing working on the ramp. I hated working for the airlines as all I really did was load and unload baggage. I got a better paying job at a part 135 charter and will likely be walking away with both an A&P rating and enough money to pay for my PPL, IR, and CPL.

I’m not a pilot my father was I worked in aviation on the ground love the content and would love to see more on the ground content but still love the international communication and how you transfer from country to country communication from the air and thanks you for the entertainment ❤

I also have no dream on going into the airlines so I agree with you. I want to do bush flying, nature reserves and missionary stuff. My only problem is, I'm 38 and only completed my private at 38. Had to stop and start a couple of times due to finances but I'm keeping at it and hope I can get my commercial done soon enough. I am in South Africa, grew up here, I was at Tedderfield just the day after you've returned the aircraft. Would be an honor to meet you guys. Keep up the good work.

One of the cheapest ways to learn to fly is to get a job at an airfield which has flight lessons on site. You may be able to work for free flights or get huge discounts. André in Sydney

It's too many years ago, but a friend took me up in a fixed wing, single engine, including a trip from Elstree to Duxford. Flying into a museum sooned like a really smart thing to do. But here's my question, with heavy Dave Clark headphones on and what seemed to be a hummy cockpit, I found it a bit headachy. On the other hand, your interior seems to be very well sound insulated and the long flying time doesn't seem to wear you out too much, or is it just your sunny characters. I totally agree with you, I’m not an airline guy either. I totally get you, flew the c208 in South Africa and I want to go back.. but it’s difficult to find a job.. or hard to find. Please reach out if you find any humanitarian pilot jobs for the caravan in Africa:)

I totally feel what you are feeling, being an airline pilot is most likely less fun than flying these small planes manually into small challenging airfields. I personally don't get what you enjoy about these super loud, expensive and extremely versatile helicopters and I would not want to fly these at night and land on individual spots, often near power lines, that idea simply freaks me out. But everybody has different emotions and ideas. I also know that they are equipped with special gear to make these lines visible, but still even at daylight being with a plane/heli near power lines on individual "non airfield" spots feels terrifying to me. My highest respect goes not to airline pilots, but to really experienced glider pilots ... which is also the foundation of your career and success, and I think learning how to manage the energy of your plane without propulsion of any kind for a safe spot on landing, if the engine fails, will most likely be less of a problem for both of you than most pure motor pilots. That capability can save your life. This year I will try flying a glider at a local club ... but only after I get some basic simulator experience, like with the latest version of the MSFS. Hope I don't 🤮during endless thermal circling. Your flying, editing and music is so brilliant, captivating and touching, I enjoy that to the fullest on a big 4K monitor and headphones I am right in there with you. Do you always use avgas in the rotax ? Is that an availability choice? Or operational.

How come you didn't use mogas in the airports? I know down in SA and nearby places they will allow you to bring it in in bags.
