In qigong, slow repetitive movements can help to relax the body and transform the stressful energy into calmness. By slowing down the movement, we can naturally slow down our breath, which helps to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which then helps to relax the mind and slow down 'racing mind’.
When the body and mind are at peace, the self-healing mechanism (or vital energy) begin to move freely to restore and nourish the system.

I've been doing this movement for many years. Your description of the feeling is excellent. It was taught to me by a traditional Mongolian physician. He told me where there is stiffness there is susceptibility to health problems. There are other versions with added twists and side-to-side wave movements. Enjoyed sharing the time with you. 🤗🤗❤️❤️

Hi Laura, you can. it all depends what you are trying to achieve. Tapping is considered more stimulating whereas here we are trying to relax and shift the nervous system into a relaxed mode. However, there are no right or wrong here, listen to your body what it needs!
