Qimir seems a bit young to be a Sith master. But I do agree that the mysterious figure is probably not the actual master. I was finishing my junior year of undergrad when The Phantom Menace was released. I saw it with a group of Japanese exchange students from Kobe International University I was responsible for as RA. While there were kids in the theater, there were notable chuckles from everyone older in the audience (the 18yo + crowd) when Palpy said he would watch Anakin's career. Overall, while people slept through the start of it, everyone was fully engaged by the end in my opening night viewing. And yes, I, my college friends and Japanese exchange students were fully versed on EU lore (it was all we had during the dark ages waiting for new Star Wars content) from books and games... but especially books. So we all laughed and cheered whenever the Emperor or his Senate alter ego were on screen. Senator Palp scenes were highlights of that film along with (don't hate me) Jar-Jar -- who I was convinced was a force sensitive jinx after that first viewing.

The crazy thing is that Lucas never intended the Emperor's identity to be a secret. The story of how Senator Palpatine became President and then Emperor is in the 1976 novelization of Star Wars. Even though the Emperor is never called by the name Palpatine on screen in the OT, this name is consistently used in novelizations, comics, and other media. My point is - Lucas wasn't trying to hide it at all. I think he just thought it went without saying. So, in the PT there just never is any dramatic reveal of the "secret", simply because it was never intended to be a "secret" in the first place.

I gasped audibly the first time I saw it, when he was introduced, because I instantly recognized him- and my sister, who was watching the movie in the seat next to me, wondered why. That quickly whispered expanation must have been duplicated tens of thousands of times during May and June of that year. "He's the Emperor. He's the guy who becomes the evil Emperor! To me it is that he almost instantly went from a flake (the drunken support character) to a controlling teaching moment with Mae. When he started with the mantra of "Peace is a lie...." he helped focus her and then he taught her about the world they live in and how to manipulate things to "their" side. Even when speaking with the Jedi, he may have seemed phased but it felt very manipulative and precise. If she did get captured, I'm sure he had some other "potential" to take her place and then if she escaped, she learnt something new.

But the real question is, if he's a Sith, is he a Darth? And which Darth is he? I am guessing, with him being human, at least a couple of generations before Plagueis. If they are using the currently already named baneites, I'd guess Darth Zannah, as Darth Tenebrous was a Bith (i.e. the same race as the Modal Nodes). But he could be an Apprentice who eventually failed to kill his Master, so not one of the main line that ended up in Sidious and Vader.

Qimir has been an interesting presence on the show. Whenever you have a good rogue element it opens up the options of what we have to consider about the 'rules' everyone is operating by in introducing Team X. What IS he getting out of this situation by backing an inexperienced but very driven assassin? What's he getting out of this endgame because I'd have to think he'd make better money from the Hutts so there really suggests there's some other gain.

That's how I hide my abilities. Being drunk and unserious. But, when the power of the Dark Side calls, the Jedi know it's serious.

Also, the quote that Qmir says that folk seem to also over look "you look just liker her" when he ID's Osha as Osha, rather than May. Qmir KNOWS that Osha is alive while may does not - heck, brining Osha and may back together and targeting the 4 jedi masters may be part of the breadcrumb trail to the event that the sith are trying to lay out for the political enemies of the jedi. Make it obvious (make may challenge folk in public), make the jedi bring Osha back in as a suspect so that the rumors of a 'former jedi' killing a master start to spread. It changes the story - Osha and may are not this series protagonists... They're pieces on a chess board being moved around by the sith. May's not been trained to be a sith or a sith assassin (as she may believe she is), she's been trained enough to be an asset which can easily be discarded later once the attention has been placed on her, her sister, thrn4 jedi masters and the events that took place on her home world. She's no Asajj Ventress and even in terms of "non-sith" enforcers/jedi killers she's no general grievous. For the sith, she's nothing but a tool.

To me his name has always stuck out to me. The name Qimir could be three things: 1) Loosely based on the Arabic Name Amir meaning "Commander" Or 2: Sounds very similar to Chimera. The Greek Mythological Creature of different species into one. Or Third: Qui in Latin does mean Who? Which adds another mystery. Honestly he is my favorite character from the show that isn't Sol. He made me interested in Mae's story.

i think a way for the Sith to be invisible, is that they can not think on things or be talked into a part of his mind that opens his memories when in conversation with a Jedi. they must cloud the mind of the Jedi to not search that part of their memory. Qimiri seems very keen to do that in the conversation with Sol. He is deeper than what has been revealed. never let them mind probe or let any secrets come to the surface of the memory.

Yeah, I picked up on all this too. It would also easily explain why the "master" uses a mask and a voice changer. I wouldn't be surprised it it turns out that dude we saw giving that riddle at the end of the first episode was actually just a droid being controlled remotely. Another hint is his name. "Qimir" kinda sounds a bit like "Chimera," the ancient mythological multi-headed beast who was extremely hard to slay because if you cut off one of its heads, several more will grow back in its place which in turn makes it more powerful. Much like how a Sith puppeteer has layers upon layers on contingency plans, assets and eyes and ears throughout the galaxy. Thwart one part of their plan and dozens of contingencies are swiftly and quietly moved into position.

What of Indara didn't really die and is the true leader of this Sith sect, orchestrating the whole Acolyte revenge thing??? Also, what if Qimir is Zippermouth, her apprentice, who will die in the next couple of episodes, and will be replaced by Mae? And this season ends with a duel between Mae and her Osha?

I would like to see a video explanning the map of the galaxy, the hyperlanes and the distance and travel between some planets, giving context to some events, particullary in Star Wars Rebels and The Mandalorian. It was said many times that travelling through space is dangerous, Han Solo said it to Luke when escapping from Tatooine, and it was seen in the Clone Wars when the Malevolence had to calculate a difficult path around a nebula. I know that the different regions of the galaxy are drawn in a more or less circular way around the core of the galaxy, and that exist 5 major hyperlanes for travelling trough the galaxy. In Star Wars Rebels, the Phoenix Cell operates mostly in the Lothal Sector having at one point a somewhat base in Garel that is in the sector, the sector is near the Mon Calamari sector that are in the northeast corner of the galaxy (in represention of most maps), however in one episode Sato wants a new route through the Concord Dawn system which is in the Mandalorian sector near the Mid Rim border, which is far from the Lothal sector. Even the Yavin system is closer to Lothal that Concord Dawn. It does not make sense to me, unless it was to have access to the Hydian Way. We also see the Rebels and Thrawn go to Ryloth which is near Tatooine (in the southeast of the galaxy) and very far from Lothal. In The Madalorian I also have problems with the location of Nevarro. I have seen maps were it was near Mon Cala, others near Tatooine and one were it was in the Mandalorian sector. It kind makes sense that Nevarro is near Mandalore since Moff Gideon had bases in both planets, which was easier to control that having bases in opossites sides of the galaxy, but we know that Carson Teva patrols the Outer Rim from Adelphi base, and supposedly is scope of patrol is not that far from the base, and thhe base does not seem to have that many pilots. And Carson was on Nevarro and on patrol in Tatooine and later was called by Karga for help against the pirates. If from one single base they have to patrol the intere Outer Rim, wouldn't they burn most of the fuel travelling from the base to the point of patrol and back again? Plus, if there are this hyperlanes, to travel from distante systems of those lanes wouldn't they have to make several jumps to change lanes? Usually they only do that when trying to escape. Big ships might have better navicomputers to do all the calculations without making several jumps, but I doubt small ships, and strfighters can. And how much time takes to travel? In the Clone Wars and The Mandalorian we see them in hyperspace for a long time, but in other shows it seems like minutes or seconds.

This guy is almost certainly the ambitious sith apprentice, fostering his own potential apprentice against his master. Although I am also really interested in the idea of a larger dark side cult/society who serve the master and apprentice but know their place outside of the rule of two. We've had hints of it, the inquisitors, zombie palpatine's audience, the old guy on mustafar in rogue one, etc. I'm particularly interested in people not necessarily force capable but still worship the dark side and the power it can bring through the sith master.

Qimir is, perhaps, a bit of a riff on the Darth Jar Jar idea. ;) Seriously though, it makes perfect sense that he is the apprentice. Of course, given the nature of the show, that might be misdirection. It's a mystery... That can't make it too easy.

You’re right he’s definitely not a simple fixer, but his conversation with Mae gave us the explanation of what he really is - he’s another acolyte. Hence him referencing the Sith Code. I’m not saying he isn’t secretly the Master and Mae doesn’t realize it, that is very plausible! But we do have an explanation beyond “professional fixer” already.

I’m guessing the big twist is that the Jedi were the ones who burned down the evil twin’s home, and she’s killing the Jedi to get revenge for what they did to her. Leslie Headland said that this show is like Frozen meets Kill Bill. Frozen ends with the two sisters being friends again, and Kill Bill is a revenge story. This means there’s no way that the evil sister dies or stays evil. It also means that the evil twin is justified in getting her revenge.

I feel like Mae’s master wants her to be caught in the act, taken alive in a public spectacle, and then have her reveal the Dark Secret ™️. Like, she’s been given a task for which she is not suited, given directives that make the task even more difficult, and has had her passionate rage amplified to this end.

Honestly, I took this guy as just a minor part of the Sith gang but, now that I learn his name it becomes obvious: Qimir sounds like Chimera which practically means the same thing as deception. In fact all the characters in The Acolyte have symbolic names in Latin or Norse, some Reddit users say (I haven't verified).
