I bought one of these set ups.....100% based on THIS video.....for my 2022 KLR 650! IT WORKS AMAZING....AND LOOKS "FACTORY". REALLY GOOD! THANKS for this video! I MISSED YOU SAYING THAT YOU BOUGHT THE "MIRROR" bracket instead of the HANDLEBAR one. That ended up costing me extra.....but other than that.....this set up works fantastic!

Nice video, I used Ram mount on my KLR . It's a ball an socket design. I'm using my Garmin on it, I don't trust my phone on it. You can download music to the Garmin, and run your phone through it also. I personally get on my bike to get away from the phone. Ride safe , and keep up with the great videos.

Yep, the quad lock (without the dampener) stuffed up my iphone camera when I dropped the bike, dont think I'd trust it again now, even with the vibration dampener.

I've got the same setup but with the wireless charger which is great, saves me having to remember to charge the phone. The oem USB on the adventure model allows me to keep it plugged in permanently and keep it well sealed around the USB connection (wouldn't trust it to be fully submerged but rain has been no issue so far). Portrait mode blocks the speedo from sight with the galaxy s20, but I'm experimenting with brackets to raise the windscreen so that will also give me options to raise the mount with a gimble arm for portrait use of the phone.

Vibration destroyed the camera in my iPhone XR (yes, WITH the vibration damper) on my DR650. All good after getting the camera replaced, but didn't want to trash it again, so now use an older Samsung Note phone on the bike for navigation. Apart from that, these mounts are fantastic. Used the universal self-adhesive mount for the Samsung with the case I already had, and use the Quad Lock car mount (sticks to windscreen) in the car for my iPhone (and keep it in my pocket on the bike). The Quad Lock phone cases are really solid too, and protect the phone well. No issues at all with the Samsung camera so far. Maybe newer phone cameras are a bit more delicate... Cheers!

That's good info, fingers crossed for the pixel. My old phone is stuffed so I can't use that one :(

I used the quad lock case / mirror mount / vibration dampener / but I got the waterproof charger mounted it to the dampener then used the mirror mount if that makes since works great on my gen 3 klr

Yep, makes sense and glad you like it. I thought about the charger, but I'm just going to charge it off my 12V

Love the Quad Lock set ups. I've been using the anti vibe gizmo on the Pan America and haven't shaken my camera loose from the iPhone SE 2nd gen. I'm thinking up updating it to the 13 Pro Max for video and I might go back to the tank bag for some of the rougher riding if I do that. Just thoughts right now. After a few months has anyone had any issues with their phones using the Quadlock system? I purchased a Garmin Zumo XT, cause that's what it's made for 👍🏾

Thanks for this video. I just added this setup to my 2022 KLR (minus the dampener), but I found I ruined my optic sensor my phone, so I am adding the dampener. Has it worked for you?

So far so good. I always make sure the camera isn't running in the background too just to be safe

That is precisely the same set up that I wanted to use on my KLR. However, did you notice that there is MUCH MORE vibration on that horizontal mount than there is on the handlebars, perhaps triple the amount. I may use that Quad set up on the mirror stem or perhaps use the handlebar mount. It's a shame though, as that horizontal bar makes for a perfectly symmetrical set up. Perhaps I missed it, but did you mention whether the windshield was in the stock or raised position? Thanks.

G'day, the windshield is in stock position, should have a bit more room raised up. I'll let you know about vibration, I've been riding another bike for the past few weeks and I'm back on the KLR now

@@onthebackwheel Thanks much. All you need to do is idle the bike and put your hand anywhere on the horizontal bar, then put your hand where a handlebar mount would go. You will notice a very substantial difference, perhaps due to the bars being rubber mounted…
