When Freddie looks in the camera and whispers "i still love you" and smiles, it was his last video appearance and he said goodbye to his fans. The whole song/video is heartbreaking... Freddie was in agony, half of his right foot was an open wound and he couldn't walk. But he was determined to finish the video.

Often in concerts he at some point would say, “I still love you” to the audience, his sea of fans. Here, in his last video, it’s the last thing he whispers to all of us watching. Thank you for letting it play to the end. Your emotion was genuine and appropriate. Never think you have to hide or apologize for it. We all feel the same way. Long Live the Legend that was and is Freddie Mercury.

The takeaway from this song is that we should all treasure our moments. Even little moments. This song has one of the MOST beautiful guitar solos I've ever heard. My heart breaks every time I hear this one, knowing it was the last video Fred did, and knowing now that he was so ill and could hardly walk because according to Brian, the bottom of one foot was basically an open sore, but he went into that studio like a boss and was a professional till he literally couldn't sing anymore. Brian says that he said goodbye in this song. As affected as we all are by hearing this song and watching this video, can you imagine what this was like for Brian, Roger and John? Remember, all during this time, they are all three lying, lying, lying to everyone, to the press and anyone who asked about Freddie, because their first priority was to protect him. Poor John pretty much lost it after Freddie died, and after doing one or two more things with them, was no longer able to do it anymore. We still love you too, Freddie!

For me it's the song "Made in Heaven" that wrenches my heart. It's a beautiful song and was really the best way Freddie could have signed off and said goodbye. Originally it was for a solo album a few years previous. The band released it in 1995 on an album of the same title. The album was written as he was dying. Brian May says the recording during Freddie's final few months really cemented them as a family. I don't think we'll EVER see another musician/vocalist/showman of his calibre in our lifetime. He was truly an incredible performer

Listening to this song, I look back and ask myself, "How did time fly by so fast?" All the moments I should have cherished a while longer, the people I should have talked to more, friends I should have said how much they mean to me, and family I wished I could have said more... There are times I wish I could turn back time to say how much I loved my father. I know he's watching me and is proud of me. But, still, I cry wishing he was here a little longer, calling him every day to tell him I love him, and how much he deeply means to me. 😭 I'll still, and always, love you, dad...

I was working at Tower Records when "Innuendo" was released - we fell in love with the album immediately and had it on heavy rotation in the store. Little did we know, it was literally Freddie's goodbye letter. When he died a few months later, every song took on an entirely new meaning. The entire staff was totally wrecked. Creating this final gift for his fans shortened his life by several months. He put everything he had left into it.

Very hard to watch, Rogers song is a fitting song for Freddie to sing. The amount of artists that have gone and not have been able to goodbye to thier fans is unfathomable but Freddie got to control his last days and got to tell us his fans he loved us, this video was shown the day it was announced he had gone, 25th November 1991, it was almost impossible to watch then.

This song gets me on so many levels. Firstly, our beloved Freddie 🥺😭 Such a beautiful human. And I had such a traumatic childhood after about the age of 7. I like to reflect on when I actually had a childhood, before my grandparents passed away, when I was free to be a child. Life after they passed became so sad and scary, but at 31, pregnant with our second child, it’s cathartic to give my children the childhood I didn’t have. When he says, “No use in sitting and thinking of what you did, when you could lay back and enjoy it through your kids,” INSTANT TEARS. We all miss this beautiful man so much. ❤️

I couldn't watch the video the first 20 years it was out. According to some biographies, they had to bring a bed in for Freddie to rest in between takes. He said his clothes badly hurt his skin. When I first saw this video, I couldn't believe it could have been Freddie. Roger wrote this song about his children and life in general, but it took on a whole new meaning in Freddie's interpretation. The band's manager arranged an animated video because of Freddie's seriously bad condition, but Freddie didn't want to say goodbye to the world as a pencil drawing. He wore cashmere underwear because he was always very cold due to the high weight loss, but he also wore the painted waistcote which is decorated with the images of his beloved cats, he loved them as his babies. Freddie had an extremely strong personality, he never regretted anything, he was never complaining about anything, he was living for the music. His illness could break him very late only, he gave up the fight when he could no longer sing, after Mother Love which he couldn't finish.

At the time the album was released, I was still living in London. I saw the clip "these are the days.." on TV and I've noticed Freddy wasn't looking so good. I thought of Cancer. I was wrong. I bought the album, and even now, in 2024, I feel so sad about it all, I just can't listen to it, it's too hard to go through it in one go. I went to the tribute concert at Wembley, and it did a really kick to see all the musicians, bands and people sharing Queen's songs and Aids awareness. God bless Freddy and Queen for all the joy they gave us. My 2 kids (1998 + 2000) grew up to different bands of the 70, 80 and 90s, but I've never shared Innuendo with them until they've found it on the shelves and I've told them why. It's nice of you to share it for the ones who wouldn't know about this sad story.

Apparently Freddie was just stood in front of a camera and had a set of drums to keep rhythm. the parts showing the other band members was done after Freddie had died. Freddie never got to sing the last verse as he became so weak and tired. It amazes me and I admire him so much that he knew he was not going to live much longer and yet not once did he feel sorry for himself but cared for others and sang this song for his fans. it makes me cry when I hear this song especially at the end where he tells us all he loves us. His body had failed him but his voice was still incredibly beautiful. This was, obviously, the last video he did but he recorded part of one more song. He did the first 2 verses but was too tired to finish it. He told Brian he was done for the day and would finish the vocals the next day.....he never made it back to the studio, so Brian sang the final verse and the song was released in 1995, four years after Freddie's death.-. It's called "Mother Love". If you think this one is sad, watch the video for "No One But You (Only the Good Die Young) that the band does as a tribute to Freddie. Tissues required, but it's beautiful.

yeah I know exactly how you feel. I grew up as a young teen in the 70's working odd jobs to get the money for another Queen record. I've been a fan since Day 1 .and I still cannot make it through some of these videos without losing it , Truly the greatest front man , and band of all time . Just pure raw talent , class and charisma till the end !

There is little doubt that this is the hardest queen video to watch with the exception of the last 'I still love you'. For me the interesting thing is that Freddie's penultimate video makes me (and most other Queen fans I know) smile, that is 'I'm Going Slightly Mad' even though the lyrics are about the effects of his illness and the drugs he was taking, and he looks as ill. I think it is because he appears to be enjoying himself.

Queen + Adam Lambert still perform this song during their concerts. Roger sings it with Brian at his side and they show videos of the original band (Freddie, Brian, Roger and John) in their heyday.

It's all right, hon. It's not easy to watch. Especially when you recognize how fragile Freddie has become. He still toughed it out, for us. And you are correct, he retained his beautiful voice throughout.

I´m actually wondering, why nobody really visibly reacts, to this heartbreaking ill state, Freddie was in, at the Time of this Video. It literally destroys me every Time, from the in to the outside. Such a brave and beautiful, genuine and warm hearted Soul! He never deserved to die or suffer so painully. My Heart is crying. Miss you Freddie. I still love you.

Although very sad, a great song & very moving video by Freddie & the band, just the same!! The album this song is from "Innuendo" (1991), is excellent, by the way.

When uncle freddie was making this video he was in so much pain. They was afraid that he wouldn't be able to stand up. But freddie was a fighter and wanted this video out to his family and fans. How much he loved us. Even to smile for us. When he walks off at the end it was freddie saying goodbye. R.I.P Uncle Freddie 🌹❤

Freddie and the whole Band Queen where such loveable People who allways gave us joy and happiness. I whitnessed (is that the right word?) the whole career of this Band, allways waiting for the next Queen song which sure would be a Hit again and i cried as Freddie died. I miss him and Queen. But now he is singing with David Bowie and Montserat Cabbalier again, i think its allright for him now.

Roger Taylor wrote this song about raising his children, but when Freddie sings it, it becomes something entirely different. Beautiful and heartbreaking.

Although Queen decided to take credit for all songs as a band, it was actually Roger Taylor who was the main writer of this song. It was actually about his family, not about Freddie. I think Freddie would have told him to FO if he said it was dedicated to him, just MHO of course.
