What a great understanding of this..hope the mechanics I take my 2001 tahoe to tomorrow can get it right like you did here..my 2001 tahoe is doing the exact same thing, for 3 days it has been sounding like when I'm slowing down I can hear my engine revving up more, well today it got louder on the way home from work, I parked to pickup my kids and when idling it was sooo loud man, like it was stuck on 3rd or 4th gear..i git a paper towel and checked the fluid fearing it was empty or something..and to my surprise there was probably 5x the amount of fluid on the dipstick than there should be, it's like 2or 3 inches above the hashed area it's supposed to be in...hope this dont cost ridiculous money in parts and labor to get fixed, it's my everyday driver..283,000 miles, original transmission also

lots of miles, how it get so much fluid in it?
@andy11ink4 жыл бұрын
@@thisisyourtransmission i honestly have no idea..the last time fluids were checked was in december when my nearby shop did some brake work for me, new E-brake, and rotors along with pads..they also do an overall check and fluid check..I dont know if someone was able to pop my hood and purposely add some in or what...but it's only been happening for 3 days or so noticeably..and I just drove it around the block after letting it sit since I got home from work at 4pm AZ time (4.5 hrs ago)...and it's now making some squeaking noises along with something sounds like its rumbling under the truck...I dont have any enemies I know of Lol, so I dont want to say someone popped my hood and added some, because there was no signs of someone prying it open...so my only other conclusion is they overfilled it if they added some in the shop to "top off"...but if it's been running that high for 7 months would it just now show problems??...I did the hot check the manual states to do which gives a more accurate reading and its literally 2 inches above the high end up the hot zone on the stick..I'm baffled

when I hook the plug back into the trans and then put a meter to check for ohms I got a reading 22.3 23.5 so I guess its not my shift solenoid. If you had of gotten a reading what would of been your next step? would you still have dropped the pan and checked the solenoids and wiring harness inside the pan? Thanks for taking the time to answer. Mark

Mark c good question, i got a no shift into 3rd &drive on a 2000 Chevy Silverado 4wheel drive, &it was goin & went into 2 neutral, it still has 1st,2nd &reverse, I got 5 tranny codes ,then reset the comp ,& now I got a u1026, no communications code . I got ohms on pin 49,or 50 with the trans plug off at the comp plugs,but not sure if I should be getting ohms or not. 42,47,48 checked out good. does any1 know for sure,what the tcc solenoid ohms should be???? I tested it out of the pan with power & with out power & got 11 ohms, Google says 10/13 ohms is good,but other videos say 18/30 ohms is correct. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Carlos nandez no I haven't, I've put it up for sale or trade. wish I could figure it out & keep it. it's a 1 owner n good shape etc. thanks

David Johnson i see. thanks for the reply. i checked the wiring harness from tranny to pcm and its good and replaced both solenoids and same problem p0758. but the only thing i haven't checked its the transmission harness 😂😒
@chrisendrizzi53872 жыл бұрын
Hi I've got the same code P0758. I changed out both solenoids shift A and B check engine light still comes on and is not shifting. I don't have 1st gear or drive it will shift into 3rd manually and reverse. I tried the connection in this video to the ignition 0 fuse from the computer from the 47, 48, and tcc pins and I'm not reading any omhs what could that mean. Some videos are saying possibly ignition switch? I already read the voltage to the solenoids with the pan off the transmission and they both have power with the key turned on.

If you followed the connections with the olm meter and you are not reading any olms, then there is a break in the wire somewhere. The break could be in the internal wire harness that is inside of the transmission or it can be in the outside wire harness itself.

My tahoe is having issues. So at 1st it would only drive in 1st and reverse. Week later I'm moving it an now I can drive it in 1st, 2nd , and reverse. But not on drive( D ) an no check engine lights. If it was a bad transmission it wouldn't let me just outta nowhere drive in 2nd. A gear I couldn't drive in before right?

Did you ever find out what was wrong with your Tahoe? I have a 02 silverado 1500 4x4 doing the same thing.
@wocgoblin Жыл бұрын
@Shannon Chidester yes. It's the transmission. I didn't buy a new one I took it to a guy an had him rebuild it. Cost me $2100.

What if you have a reading on the meter? Could it still be a shift solenoid?

Hi I tried your technique and it worked awesome ! All 3 solenoids showed ohms! I changed fluid and filter still having the same issue! It will go into 1st and 2nd and it seems like it won’t shift to 3rd! I’ve checked the fuses and they seem to be alright! Any suggestions? Thanks!
@thisisyourtransmission3 жыл бұрын
I have a video somewhere here that shows how to use an amp clamp to see if the computer is commanding the shift solenoids to shift. If the computer is doing its job, then the problem is somewhere in the transmission.
