For my version of the theatrical cut of Kenobi, I plan to de-age Qui-Gon.
This is the first test, but we still have a ways to go :)
DISCLAIMER:
This is a non-profit, transformative fan project. It was made as an experiment in VFX and editing, and will feature multiple breakdowns and tutorials with the goal of promoting creative thinking and filmmaking technology. I respect the original creators of the series and the series overall. Without it, this edit and, all the other fan-art wouldn't be possible.
This is not intended to fix, or belittle, or replace the original series in any way, but is supposed to be viewed as an alternative approach to the same story. Neither this project nor I are affiliated with Disney/Lucasfilm in any way!

Not bad, but I’d say that Liam Neeson’s face is timeless enough to say I don’t think the de-age is worth any uncanny valley.

I agree. The show was sht, but Liam felt the same as in 99. Though the setup was shit again. Seeing a force ghost in a bright sunny desert looks really bad.

True tbh the deep fake makes it look more younger then he did in ep1 and looks like he has no eyes

I think honestly the only fix Liam needs is his eyes. His hair color doesn't need to be darkened as he had a fair amount of gray in The Phantom Menace.

Thanks! I'd like to work on his eyes some more, but he's aged pretty well in the first place. Also in the final edit he'll be much more transparent, since he didn't complete the training. We must keep up with canon by some degree :)

The long sideburns in the show bugs me to no end, de-age wasn’t necessary, just a trim away from being perfect 😂

Exellent job, but this doenst look like a necessary thing to do. Neeson looks good and needs no deaging, you better save your time and resorces on things that are really bad=) Thou i will accept your version of the movie in any case. Cant wait to watch it

returning to this, is it possible to use ebSynch to make his hair appear a tiny bit looser on top? That making him look weird either way, and the eyebrows, were the only real issues.

The beard is all wrong but I think they used it to hide the fact his jawline has changed with age

This'll be tough. His stance, the hair and the glue on Amish beard will be a nightmare to fix. Goofy as hell looking. Best of luck though
