According to my experiences the easier way is to use a normal deodorant spray (non black & white deo - which contains deo-dust or smoething like this) + paper towel. This won't harm the clear coat. Cheers :)

My sister turned me on to this channel. She use to play with my cars and trucks so often. But she also liked her dolls. So she had the best of both worlds. I got use to her taking everything out side or stuffing her pockets with cars and dragging a doll with her every time she left the house. If I couldn't find some cars I would go looking in her purses/ pocket books or what ever else she had to carry them.

Great but only really works with a gloss finish. It will polish a satin or matt finish background. For these it is probably best to use a glass fibre brush.

Thanks so much for this. I'm very very new to collecting and I just started my very first mod with this. The video allowed me to remove the flag from the top of an ertl general lee without ruining the paint underneath. It worked like a charm. I even followed the link you provided to Amazon to get the buffing wheels. Now I have to successfully apply a waterslide decal I got off of ebay to make the general lee into a general grant! Thanks again for the great and informative video!

You should silver flake the roof on that Lincoln and put it on more tradional looking wheel. The paneling job that you left on the car looks very early 1970s but the god awful late model getto wheels just kill the look. I will always have a fondness for old diecast cars from the 1960s to 1980s, I came across your channel a few months ago looking to restore a few of my Matchbox cars from my youth that some how didn't die out in the back yard. Anyways another Great video, I am always excited to see your next one. Do you have a video showing your collection displayed? I would get a kick out of seeing it one day.

trying to figure out how to remove tampos on a 1/18 scale ford crown vic because motormax doesn’t make the crown vics anymore and you can’t find white unmarked ones very easily anymore. being so large, and having so much to remove, what’s the best suggestion? i also don’t want to mess up the paint. and i could try and repaint a black and white to be all white, however i really don’t want to have to strip a cars paint, re paint and then apply waterslide decals. especially because i’m going to be adding lights and other things to the cars. fortunately body lines are fairly easy as all the doors open, hood and trunk.

Will this method work on diecast aircraft as well? For instance, I have an airliner that has a clear coated polished aluminum base with tampo livery on top. I wish to customize it by removing the livery without damaging the clear coat underneath. I have not seen any videos on this topic, but since you are the diecast master, I trust your advice.

I have discovered a few years ago that 'dry erase board cleaner' will dissolve the ink of the tampo without harming the underlying paint. The shine of the paint is preserved and you won't risk having ghost images left behind from polishing through the tampo.
@baremetalHW6 жыл бұрын
I will give that a try.

Kevin A Creedon unfortunately there is no way.... almost all the metal paints dull if you clear coat over them.. the best you can hope for is an acrylic metal flake...

Back when i was a kid i always "painted" my cars black with an Edding (i know stupid right?) My question now is: Can i remove the Edding from the car with this method and if yes can i also get the plastic windshield back to original? I once tried nail polish remover to get rid of the Edding but unfortunately it totally ruined the windshield, it got foggy and also kinda melted (maybe because of acid?) I hope i can get my cars back to the original color, the tampos are not that important, the windshields are the most critical point. Ps. Nice video as always :) Edit: I found your video on this topic, but i doubt i will find elo here in Germany :/
