Yeah the pathfinder is a good trail rig with minor parts.. 2011 is still the same platform as mine so any front suspension parts for 2005 and up frontier xterra or pathfinder will work.. shocks arms titan swap bla bla bla.. for the rear id run an air bag set up with either stock coils and a spacer or a set of rear springs off of 4x4parts.com And either rs9000's or some radflos made for the pathfinder .. basic 2.5 inch lift some clever trimming can get 33's easy just remember 4-lo and stay off the brakes when climbing..if you touch the brakes the computer will disengage the traction control..learn to use steady and smooth throttle..you'll be suprized where that thing will go.

I'm not sure what nissan did different on the ones you guys have but I've never seen anyone claim the 2.5 as reliable... hopfully yours will treat you well if you decide to mod it let me know I'll help as much as I can..thanks for watching

@@theclan4adventures What you have written is exact... Here in Europe, it is very very much expensive to run a 4-liter petrol engine, for the price of the fuel (1.5 USD/liter) but also for the assurance, registration taxes and whatnot - these stupid governments prefer to pollute 50 times more and bully on the "big American cars"... Anyway, these TD engines are as torquey as the 4-liter petrol's even if considerably less powerful. I'll make a video of mine's one of these days. All the best.

I used to run a vw td in a samurai years ago.. power to spare..lol unfortunately I dont have access to one here to look at the design nissan used and therefore be able to give people hints on good mods to make it more reliable. All I can offer for anyone with one reading this would be typical turbo car mods .. heat is the enemy so wires plugs anything electrical oil power steering or ac lines should be shielded and kept away from heat as much as possible ..t bolt clamps should be used wherever possible even on low boost.. rubber boots or couplings should be swaped out for silicone versions if they can be ..a bigger oil cooler if possible ..bigger trans cooler things like that will all help with reliability... routine checks for leaks and broken parts will help keep from breaking down out on a trail.. @theclan4adventures 2 жыл бұрын
I built both kits because there was no aftermarket available at that time. The 4” wider per side kit was on my white pathfinder originally then went on victor’s pathy while I built the 7” wider kit. I sold the white pathfinder after returning it to somewhat stockish condition giving both kits to victor. When I got this silver pathfinder I got the 4” kit back from victor. Both of us if we had to do it all over again would titan swap the front with a nice aftermarket upper control arm then solid axle swap the rear probably using a titan rear end. The Nissan irs wears out fast when used off road. Both Vic and I ended up using track bar poly bushing kits to mod the rear end and before I left az we were working on a possibility of a uni ball joint at the rear knuckle.. I’ll have to check in with Vic when I’m back in az and I’ll post up a vid of his truck soon

@@theclan4adventuresAwesome.. yeah I saw vids of Vic's truck on your page, that things wiiiide! Must be tons of travel. If you purchased the typical Titan swap stuff with nice struts and some SPC Uca's, would you modify at all? 2.5 in 2.5 out 40 series and yes I cut it at the inlet area for the stock muffler..I can't remember if I had to use a reduced piece from autozone or just a section of straight pipe to make up the distance because the flowmaster is a lot smaller over all than the stock unit..but I welded it in and ran the stock tail pipe section but removed the mini muffler and added a down turn to the tip other wise it will cook the rear bumper and taillight lol

Great build! No rear sway bar? How does it handle on the road? What's the benefit off-road? Just curious, I'm new to truck/suvs
@theclan4adventures
@theclan4adventures 2 жыл бұрын
I don’t run either swaybar. Both were removed on this pathfinder as well as my current build. With the fully independent suspension on all four corners it handles fine and the body roll is dependent on the amount of weight in the truck and how fast you try to take corners. At freeway speeds with an inexperienced driver encountering and emergency lane change it would be a hand full for sure .. tall tires big sidewalls and soft suspension are not ideal for high speed handling.. my wife has driven my trucks for years and hasn’t had any problems or complaints.. as far as off road it is night and day. I’m not going to type out a novel on swaybars and what they do.. just know this : if you had stock suspension drive through an obstacle then disconnect one or both sway bars and drive through it again it will feel completely different as well as an obstacle you might not make through with swaybars connected you might be able to do it with them disconnected.

@theclan4adventures 2 жыл бұрын
@@raphaelrivera4903 intended use will determine what kind of mods need to be done.. budget and over all look will play a role as well so will how much work you can do yourself. If you drive on the street most of the time and off-road on the weekends camping and just basically over landing stuff I’d opt for a good set of front coil overs aftermarket upper control arm and then in the back I’d run a air bag with compressor setup and possibly keep the spacer along with adding a quality rear shock like an extended travel radflow. Keep the truck as low as possible but still run at least a 33”tire. Another rear option would be a progressive rate coil and quality shock like the radflo I suggested..The weak points are the factory bushings .. Nissan never intended for these to really be driven off-road a lot.. the rear lower control arm the spring sits in typically is the first to fail once lifted..the inner most bushing that connects the arm to the sub frame is the first to go along with front upper control arm bushings.. replacing those with a poly bushing seemed to be the only solution for me and Vic. A cheap way to help all the bushings survive longer is to loosen all the bolts once the lift is installed and then retighting all of them ..recheck alignment. Don’t leave anything loose

Depends on what shock set up you want the fox shocks I was running at the time of the video we’re off my 07 stock titan 4x4 but I made multiple sets of mounts to get the mounting correct and ended up removing the rear air conditioner unit and had to go through the frame for the upper location. The frame is thin and soft so anything you do at your own risk. I would suggest radflows in extended travel made for the rear of the r51 or a cheaper alternative is rs9000’s from rancho

Depends on the length of the shock you plan to run the 2in subframe spacers will lift the back exactly that 2inch but your upper shock mount will not change as it is built into the subframe so with stock springs your still going to have the same amount of travel and spring rates witch is very soft id recommended doing the sub frame drop but put in some air bags and go with a decent shock made for the rear of the pathfinder.

Any lockers? If so what did you go with? And did you have to upgrade your diffs?
@theclan4adventures
@theclan4adventures Жыл бұрын
No lockers on my pathfinder’s and I ran stock diffs. 0 issues on 35’s Vic runs a lokka brand locker in the front of his “pathy” and it works pretty good

@@theclan4adventures is the diff strong enough for a lokka? Or would you not recommend it? I just got an 08 v6 pathy so I’m trying to build it up

@@wadesafool the weak link is the cv joint. The trick with wheeling a vehicle that has traction control is to be smooth on the throttle and avoid hitting the brakes or smashing the gas while going over or through an obstacle be smooth and consistent with the throttle and use low range whenever possible does your pathfinder have vsc? And hill descent assist?
@wadesafool
@wadesafool Жыл бұрын
@@theclan4adventures it has vdc and ABLS, no hill descent though, would it be best to just buy a winch instead since this vehicle isn’t built to handle lockers? And how do I limit breakages? Is 33in tires too big for stock axles? What about 32s?

@@wadesafool 35’s is fine with stock diffs 33’s even better it can handle lockers they are just priced too high for my taste.. you would be surprised where a stock r51 can go with a decent set of tires and good driver
