My original set up was done with 40” tires in mind but after wheeling the truck in Moab and other places across the country I decided that it would be over kill and too costly to continue down that road. most of what I’ve done to the truck are tests to see what I like and what I don’t .. in order to find a final direction for the build.. still haven’t decided lol I wanted it as low as possible for a few reasons the look ease of getting in and out easier to work on bla bla but I drive the truck everywhere everyday I don’t have down time and certainly don’t have months or years to build it while letting it sit nor do I have a shop with ac or garage so 99% of my decisions revolve around that

@theclan4adventures
@theclan4adventures Жыл бұрын
I don’t have any issues with my VSC track lights engine, light coming on. Typically there’s a code associated with that so you would wanna run the code and find out what the initial cause is. I’ve had a temperature sensor, cause a faulty code in the past, but I found that usually it’s a bad wire or connector somewhere in your ABS system that causes those types of failures you would have to have it checked or check it yourself.
@connorderivan8350
@connorderivan8350 9 ай бұрын
In my case, I had my "VSC off", "VSC TRAC", Parking brake, and "ABS" lights all on. I had to replace a whole bunch of stuff, and it came out to about $3700 after spending 3 weeks in and out of the dealership. They ended up replacing the abs control module, the abs actuator, the entire steering rack(it has something to do with the yaw rate sensor, and detecting the position of the wheels to determine whether your turning or oversteering), and the yaw rate sensor. That whole system is super finicky, and I ended up getting screwed more than most people. Point being that this system has a lot of failure points, and can be a huge number/combination of things. Unfortunately even after all that, the VSC lights still come on sometimes. I usually turn the car on and off to get rid of them though, because I'm tired of dumping money into it lmao. Despite all that, I never actually had any issues because of it connected to the 4wd though. The only time I had issues was when I messed up a wheel speed sensor doing a lift install and there was something going on up front with the traction control trying to cut power because it thought it was locked up.

@theclan4adventures

If you watch the first video I did it goes into detail what was done typically in the rear. I recommend an armada tow package, rear spring, and a really good reservoir shock. But when I was doing this there wasn’t a lot of aftermarket support. The silver pathfinder is my second one. My original pathfinder was white the standard titan swap in the front is the way to go for sure ..I didn’t change gears ..35s doesn’t really bother the truck that much plus gears were not available back then. Hey I have a question for you. Last week I took my Sequoia to the Rubicon Trail. I ended up breaking The Passenger CV, and landing hard on a rock and snapping my transfer case actuator off. I removed the broken CV but kept a stub shaft in the differential and also the stub shaft in the hub to secure my wheel to. With some vise grips and a hammer I was able to manipulate the transfer case actuator rods and find two-wheel drive. But there is some serious vibration happening in my drivetrain at any speed over 50 mph. I'm thinking maybe it's because I'm only running one CV so everything is off balance and since sequoia's don't have locking hubs the CV is just spinning the differential to death on the passenger side. Do you have any insight into what this vibration might be?
@theclan4adventures
@theclan4adventures Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately it could be any number of things as a rule of thumb I always go with the easiest cheapest thing first. Because you broke the actuator the actuator is right next to your rear drive shaft check it for any damage that could have caused it to go out of balance I wouldn’t rule out the front diff except the front actuator disengages the passenger side of the diff so the shaft still being there and driver not should not cause any vibration if I remember correctly you run wheel spacers like I do I’d check them it’s a pain in the ass but pull the tires stick a big screw driver in the brake and put a wrench on them make sure they are still tight if you suspect one is damaged swap it to a different location to see if anything changes and the easy thing to check is to lift each tire and spin it as fast as you can by hand make sure you didn’t bend or warp a wheel and check your tires for out of round conditions let me know what you find
