I once saw Rage at a festival in NYC, they were the headliner (Rock the Bells). When they started playing the crowd was jumping around so much it felt like I was in the ocean. I would jump, and then get held up in the air by everyone else jumping up with me for like a whole bar, and then land like 20 or 30 feet away from where I had been when my feet last touched the ground.

I was near the front at the start of the song, thought I was gonna die. We saw a few people jumping the fence (it was a free gig to celebrate getting to #1 in the UK for XMAS) so it was probably busier than it was planned to be. It was utter madness, brilliant madness

Story behind the free concert was every year around Christmas the winner of The X Factor show would be the number 1 downloaded or sold singles in the UK. So two fans started a campaign to Rage Against the X Factor and to get the song Killing in the Name to number 1 even though it was released in 1992. Rage members when they heard the story agreed to put on a free concert if the fans could make Rage # 1. The campaign worked! They then donated all the proceeds of the selling of Killing in the Name to the charities of the 2 fans that started the campaigns choice.

The messaging persuades our actions that create our future. Just like after nine eleven and after the crash. The criminals have control of the message which causes inaction and misactions that allow our past, present and future to be written and controlled by powerful and evil people who never speak truth. The only way to combat that is for every individual to educate themselves by speaking their own truths...now testify.

One thing about Rage was they brought the pain to their live shows...saw em a couple of times back in the day and the whole friggin arena would shake. I was always waiting for pieces of the roof to start falling, and the building to implode. Definitely in my top ten live shows I've seen... and I have a couple of hundred of em under my belt since my first one in '77... I also put Morello (sp?) in my top ten guitarists I've seen. Dude is sic. I could start listing the legends I've seen, from Ace Frehley, SRV, Clapton, Trower, and Travers to Zakk Wylde, Dave Mustaine, Malmsteen, Satriani, Vai, and everything in between (just too many great ones to list), so I kinda know what I'm talking about. Morello has his own sound and style...dude is just ridiculous

Great breakdown, I felt much of the same way. Another great live show was "Fistful of Steel" at Pink Pop. I think by saying who controls the past now controls the future ,is like saying old money and people of power controls our future. And who controls the present controls the past, is like a one sided story, of the past from the point of view of the controller . Like when we learned Christopher Columbus discovered America. But native Americans were already here so how can you discover a place that was already settled.

I was at the Finsbury Park gig, I took my 16 year old daughter, it was the first time she'd been part of a crowd that size, we were near the front and the energy was intense. We had to drive 250 miles back to Liverpool after the gig, it was over an hour into the journey before she could speak. It kind of spoiled gig going for her because she uses it as the bench mark for every live act she 's seen.

I always wondered how Tom Morello was able to slide the guitar like that during the verse with his fist raised in the air...……..

RATM is like Public Enemy lyrical content fused with metal. In fact, they are currently performing under the name Prophets of Rage with Chuck D and B-real on vocals. The old singer is no longer with the band. Every song almost is politically charged. I think at the end he's speaking toward the elites controlling the resources in the past and how that has carried into the future. The guitarist is Tom Morello, vocals - Zach de la Rocha, bass - Tim Commerford, drums - Brad Wilk. Tom Morello is known for his unique solos. They're a very unique band and one of my favorites. Live shows are the best. They have a live protest concert recorded in LA in 2000 outside the Staples Center when the Democratic National Convention was taking place. Glad you're enjoying them.
