Fans in the UK got together on Facebook in 2009 to make Killing in the Name the Christmas Number One--a big deal there--because all the recent ones had been X-Factor pop trash. And they did it! This concert was free as a thank-you to the fans. In the future, get the lyrics and listen to the original, then do the live version.

Yes thats right Tom Morello (guitarist) uses pretty much everything to create sounds to get that “DJ” vibe. Guitar cable (the one he did), ballpen, palm of his hand, parts of his guitar that is not part of playing, you name it. One of the best guitar players of this generation because of how he improvises.

Rubbing his hands on the strings for that record-scratching sound for the solo in *"Bulls on Parade." 💕

So what had happened was, people in Britain got sick and tired of Simon Cowell's latest watered down pop star going #1 on their charts every Christmas. So they organized having everyone in the country download RatM's "Killing In The Name" song to bump it off. They succeeded, so Rage put on this free concert for the people of London. I am convinced that Tom Morello is a gotdam wizard. The man just played a whole guitar solo without using his guitar. "Who controls the past controls the future; who controls the present controls the past" is from the book 1984.

Love all Rage songs but I really loved the song "Bullet in the head" they did at the Pink pop festival. Also their song "Sleep now in the fire" has a great video for that one. Awesome reactions! ❤🍀

I was at this... got the shit kicked out of me :) I was close to thestage right about 3-4 rows back. The crowd singing and response is something that hasnt been quite recorded in these videos.

Tom's father participated in the Mau Mau Uprising, so his fist raised in London potentially has a much deeper meaning and representation.

Still waiting for you to do Rage Against the Machine - Know Your Enemy ft. Maynard James Keenan edit: Zeal and Ardor is probably the closest band to RATM these days, not rap though, check out their album Stranger Fruit (based on the Billie Holliday song Strange Fruit)

I remember when Rage went on tour with Wu Tang for the 36 Chambers Album. They played a small venue here in Norfolk, VA called The Boat House. I missed it…. Listening to Green Day 🤷♂️

I was a freshman in high school when Rage blew up and became one of my favorite bands. I knew they were political and were saying shit, but I was immature and didn't care about statements like that. It didn't matter, because I grew up in a town in southwest Michigan that remains 95.5% white, so I wouldn't have understood there was truth to what they were saying anyway. I was raised by a single mother on welfare, but the town and schools were predominantly well-to-do middle-to-upper class, so yeah. And don't get me started on how racist I can see my family is now that my eyes have been opened over the last few years. Anyway, I've seen plenty of reaction channels but yours is one of the realest. I appreciate how you struggle not to say too much when you're watching Rage videos. That said, please look into a more current band called Algiers, and start with Irony, Utility, Pretext. Get that pause finger ready so you can read some statements flashing quickly across the screen: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mNZ8gMZn073Yeqs.html

You said in another video you're like Rage 'cause you believe in conspiracies. Just remember that QAnon and shit like that are conspiracy theories-- the stuff you're talking about is simply societal and historical facts and observations that shine a light on the ugly side of U.S. Touchy subject does not equal conspiracy.

Comunist but a great band.... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@MarlonRichert Жыл бұрын
They’re quite as communist as some people make them out to be. Yes, there a couple of communist references in their lyrics here and there, but mostly Zack’s rapping about the injustice, oppression, violence, propaganda and lies that the large corporations and government of the US are inflicting on the majority of the American citizens. More than anything else, Rage is about equality and human/civil rights and trying to make Americans aware of what is really going on in their country.
