I've had the odd run in with LEO and courts over my life and strange as it seems. The nicer, compliant, respectful and courteous you are the better things go...I have never heard of someone throwing a temper tantrum worthy of a 2-yo or angry teen have things go thier way. As a young man I was looking at some jail and huge fine for a reckless driving charge. But, it was reduced to a pretty minor traffic offense by the police, da and the judge. I am wiser for that moment.

I just went back to work today after a week long holiday, and it's been the longest working day of my year so far. Few things more dire than returning to work after a break. But even the worst day is made better by watching a pro se defendant make a dumpster fire of their case. When I was a young man I was arrested one evening by the local sheriff for assault. I had not assaulted anyone. I spent the night in jail and the next morning went before the judge. The person who brought the assault charge ask who I was. It turns out there was another person in our county with the same first and last name. But my middle name is Nelson his middle name is Beau. I do not remember them even apologizing for the mistake. But things were much different back then. I knew the jailer and he knew me well enough to know that I did not assault anyone. I called one of my friends and had him to bring me a guitar and some Hit Parader magazines. So I learned a couple of new songs that night.

I do understand his frustration if I am to believe that he is not being given access to a proper law library. Pro se is not a smooth choice BUT it is within his rights and he MUST be given a chance to read and learn to make or file proper motions and look at case law to develop any real lawful strategy regarding his defense. Pro se=SMH..not what I would do. He has to be given a presumption of innocence at this time. JAIL STAFF=attitudes towards inmates of indifference/presuming guilt, slow moving, over glorified adult babysitters.

Maybe start by not doing the things that earn restraining orders? This is the first guy I’ve seen who has restraining orders from three people at different locations. Usually it’s one restraining order against a group of people at one address, but no, Mr. Overachiever managed to get three simultaneous restraining orders from people who lived separately, didn’t witness any of the other violations, and are quite possibly part of three unrelated cases.

Like I say, if you've got the smarts to do pro se well, you've got the smarts to know why you don't do it at all. And I love the other guys in the lower frames. They seem embarrassed to be hearing this guff. I can almost hear them thinking, 'dude, you're giving criminals a bad name'.

Another special person who just doesn't get it's their own fault, no one told him to commit the crimes he is accused of and no else s fault he has/wants to represent himself. My guess is if he isn't getting access to the law library in jail, he probably did something there like acting like a fool in there to get blocked from access. Just my opinion of course, another wonderful video proving the life really is like a box of chocolates. Thanks for sharing this.

In the courtroom stands a boxer, Or at least he thinks that is his trade And he just got a reminder How much of this kind of fight he doesn't know But he stands there And he cries out In his anger and his shame "I am leaving, I am leaving!" but the contempt charges remain Mmmmhmmmm....

This is what a complete lack of taking personal responsibility looks like. Scream and yell and get mad that the legal systen is not going to bend over backwards and alter standard operating procedures for you just because you were dumb enough to think you could defend yourself while you are sitting in jail.

$100 dollars say this POS never serves the full contempt sentence. Every time I see a judge issue a sentence for contempt beyond a couple days, they invariably overturn themselves, or let the perp go for an apology. I am still trying to find out how much of his 90 day sentence Rick Martin served for contempt in Michigan. At the time, it was the biggest story on yewtoob, and even in the national news, but I cannot find an announcement of his release.
