@Chris Spence - I think the whole Macs are for music and video processing thing is a myth carried over from back when their processors were smoking the 900MHz Pentiums, but they still had to use an interpreter to run Win programs which made them slower than the Pentiums. I'm throwing a Asus Essense STX II into my PC next month so I can plug straight in from my guitar, plus it will give me gaming radar (bonus!!!). A high end Mac has nothing on my rig and probably costs about the same. I do like the look of their laptops though so I'm trying to white box a replica with far more power. Anyone know of a brushed aluminum white box?

tbf, the rigs aren't that horribly priced. they are old listings, so they are priced to sale at build cost. so a 1080 or 2 1080's back when they were 700 a pop, a 1tb ssd which is still like 200, and would have been about 450 at the time. sure you obviously pay more for it being pre-built but it's not like you're being ripped off. you pay extra for convenience.... the convenience of someone else's time. just like buying things at full price isn't being ripped off. you could wait for sales and slowly put together parts over a year and different sales... or pay a little extra for the convenience of having everything now.

+Playerguy2 When i heard the obsolescence thing, i inmediately understood what he was coming from: he does not understand how PC hardware works, so naturally, he assumes it works in the same way consoles do. With consoles, when a new one comes out, the old one does become less useful, and if (and only if) the purpose of the console is to always play the latest games, as games start coming out for the new one but not for the old one, the old one is no longer capable of fulfilling that purpose; and since that's the very definition of obsolescence, those old consoles do become obsolete. And it doesn't help that when a new console comes out, that means the previous one has been around for at least 4-5 years: the launch of the new one only makes it more apparent how outdated the old one was. So of course, if you were to judge PC hardware, and all you had was your experiences with console hardware, then when you see that PC "generations" (i suppose in their minds that's when Nvidia ups the number on the left by 1, like in 980Ti-1080Ti) happen every year or two, you would naturally be horrified, because you would asume that, like with consoles, the older generation gets almost inmediately abandoned every time. Of course, that's not what happens at all on PC, but if all you knew was consoles, i guess that's what you'd think. Heck, they even think that the whole computer becomes outdated when (eventually) the GPU does, like you have to buy the entire thing again instead of just replacing the GPU, just because that's how "hardare upgrades" work on console. All of it is still completely wrong, of course, but at least, of all the mistakes console pesants make regarding PC gaming, this is one you can actually find a logical explanation for.
