My class is filled with kids who play consoles, and tell me all of this BS that the little kid is saying, and won’t listen to my reasoning. Thank you for being logical and explaining that PCs don’t mean smaller monitors, are more compatible, expandable, and that they can be cheap. It’s annoying being the only kid who can see how strong a pc can be, and having people who refuse to believe that they are good too. Thank you so much!

"You can't hit the buttons on a controller by accident" I can't even count the amount of times I've been playing local PvP Minecraft with my friends and I've dropped my sword trying to run. Driving games, I'd say, are the only kinds of games in which the controller can give you an advantage (since it's analog with gradual controls). Everything else, though? Mouse and keyboard. Also, no console that has existed within that kid's lifespan has had 4 buttons. One of the controllers with the least buttons I can think of is the Wiimote. It's got 11 buttons (A, B, the four directions on the Dpad, 1, 2, minus, plus and home, plus the optional (for some games required) Nunchuk, which adds another two buttons and an analog stick).

Oh dear, kids today :-( I grew up in the 80s and we were happy to get anything to play video games on. Im disabled, I cant hold a controller and I need to keep my back strait so a PC & an orthapedic chair is my only option these days. He'll look back on this video when he's older and cringe, poor boy.

Rags, I'm impressed. I've herd the video referenced in other videos but I'm glad you took a slightly different, more constructive approach. I've been binge watching (more listening since I have headphones for work) and I really like your content. Also just so it's there, I'm a pc gamer, have been since I got my 1994 IBM. I can't remember the model since I was a kid but I remember have a 256 mgb hard drive, windows 95, 125 mgbs of ram which I upgraded to 256, 500 mghz Intel processor and a whopping 3 mbs of graphics ram in a chip on the motherboard. I've also had a lot of consoles but I've always drifted back to the computer. If anyone is curious about what my current rig is I'll comment it when asked. Point being is when I was a kid I wasn't ready for someone to destroy me like rags tends to do. So thank you for going easy on him. He's young and clearly surrounded by kids who will eventually show him the light

I find that the most valid argument for getting a console over a PC is that the console is cheaper. The typical pc argument against this is that you can get budget builds that perform just the same, or right around it, at least. I prefer two different arguments. 1. Yes, a lot of the time, a console is cheaper (depending on the current market for PC hardware,) but so is a steamy pile of shit on the side of the road. Just because something is cheaper does NOT mean you should spend your money on it. A lot of people forget this in all sorts of situations, from gaming PCs to toilet paper to anything else. 2. In the long run, literally any PC will be cheaper. The longer that you keep that PC or console for, the greater the impact will be. If you want to play online and interact with other people and your friends, on a console you will have to pay a 10 dollar per month premium to gain access to the servers that all of the consoles communicate with. This is not a thing on PC. You could spend 5 grand on a pc and 500 on a console, but if you keep that console for long enough, the cost will eventually outweigh even the cost of that PC. Of course, that last example was hyperbole, by 37.5 years to be exact, but the point stands. A steamy pile of shit is not worth your money.

I like consoles but old consoles like my ps2. Consoles dont feel like they used to be, the ps plus pay to play i dont like that. I remember the good old days all the good classic games: granturismo,tomb raider,crash bandicoot,need for speed,medal of honor,tekken,driver,gta san andreas.. oh,and the ps1 games that i played:nhl 97,fifa 97, wrc rally and again crash bandicoot.

You also end up learning more when you build/use a PC through my 4ish years I've learned coding, writing, PCB design, and more. Consoles seem to be all about playing, PCs have so much more potential.

The point about local coop is somewhat true. If you only look at AAA games, there is a trend towards removing local multiplayer and PC is getting the short end of the stick, with major franchises such as COD and Halo (MCC and Infinite) only including local multiplayer on console. It mostly comes down to PC platforms like Steam lacking features from console that as a result make it more difficult to implement local multiplayer. For example, consoles allow for multiple accounts to be signed in at once and have each account tied to a controller. The game can then load the saves from each player to let them acccess their unlocks, save their progress to carry over when they play solo and give them achievements. In cases where not every player has an account, consoles let you create guest accounts that are the same as regular accounts as far as the game is concerned. That makes it so the game doesn't have to worry about which players are signed or and which are guests and doesn't have to always check if a player is signed in before sending requests to Xbox Live or PSN, the console will simply intercept the request and handle it locally. Modern PC games are also expected to switch between keyboard and controller on the fly. Depending on how that feature is implemented, it could be very difficult to bind keyboard to one player and controller to another in the context of local multiplayer. Since PC players need to buy controllers separately, it's harder to expect them to have multiple compared to a console player. PC has more titles overall is because the PC has more games overall, due in part that most indie games start off as PC exclusives and when an indie game has multiplayer, there's a very high chance it will include local.
