I think it’s interesting that mother’s dedication to her children (including #7) as opposed to humanity as a whole is starting to go in the direction that it is. Like it seems if things continue in this direction she’ll be happy to kill the rest of humanity and turn her children into snakes just to preserve them.

The snake in S1 finale grew so large and so fast after it went through the core with mother and father. Maybe the cage was a way to lower a baby snake (after birthing it from an android) into the core and let it grow. Then it would crawl up the pit and burst out of the temple. Don’t think mother’s power in the torture scene is a new one, I think this might be microwaves and is just another way she manipulates electromagnetic radiation. We have seen explodey screaming (radio waves); heat/freeze breath (infrared), visual manipulations (optical); ability to detect pregnancy (x-ray?); and skin-melting (gamma radiation). If this is microwaves, she has used basically the full EM spectrum except for UV (radio waves > microwaves > infrared > optical/ visible light > ultraviolet > X-rays, > gamma-rays).

A techno-theological hack? [To fill the slot of Trinity, Holy Spirit could be another AI, or its aspect - maybe the nano-tech present in the environment. "God sent his Spirit".] 1:31:40 -- not sure if the chain is long enough or strong enough to manage reaching all the way to the core. 1:36:16 -- maybe the pentagonal temples are snake eggs? Or maybe there's an evaluation of investment vs return going on there and he's willing to use up energy to get through to her, if he has high confidence she'll do what she's told. Or maybe there are two AIs... Alternatively, snake in the cage could work as a sort of antennae, relaying communication from Sol. It's the snake in the Garden, coercing Sue to plant the tree of knowledge (and analogizing from the Bible, tree of knowledge is what leads to humanity's fall into sin). Oh, lastly, yeah, the acid ocean makes no sense at all to me either. Just think of the acid breeze coming regularly from the ocean burning all of their lungs, corroding equipment. Kinda hard to suspend the disbelief here.

This episode is like a horror movie

The story about Cleaver’s glasses being his eyes removable as comparison to Mother who actually stores her eyeballs in her “tummy”. Her regular eyes while she runs the necro set and vice versa, which also brings to question the fact that her necro eyeballs were in Marcus’ own stomach. He had powers even with them in him, much like how mother still has several super powers as a “normal” android while just having the necro eyes “stored”. And who else could “hijack” the eyes? And whatsup with necro grandma…is her necro power remkvable?

I'm really enjoying the discussion about RBW generated with these posts. On a number of occasions there have been points made in comments by other viewers and RBW fans that I have found thought provoking and enlightening, even if they differ from my own speculations about where the show is going. Just putting it out there but what if it is in this story that who it is that raises the orphan is very important to whoever or whatever The Light is? More specifically, what if The Light wants its Chosen One to be someone that is sympathetic and caring towards the devolved humans? Now that the sea creature has taken Tempests' baby, we essentially have 3 orphans being raised by different parents (wolves??). All 3 orphans fit the description of the prophesied one but due to their different upbringings and influences upon them, it appears that not all 3 will be intrinsically able to fulfill the prophecy. Paul is an orphan raised by Marcus and Sue / Mary (both atheists posing as Mithraic) for many years while they were all in hypersleep. And now, Paul is sympathetic only towards those of the Mithraic faith as shown by his change in attitude towards Sue after she became a 'believer' in SOL. Campion is an orphan raised by Mother and Father who are both androids programmed to be antagonistic towards the Mithraic faith. Campion is sympathetic towards androids (esp. Virell), atheists, Mithraic believers and serpents. I'm not certain but to date, I have not seen how sympathetic and caring Campion is towards the devolved humans; other than the fact that he doesn't want to eat them. Yes, Campion says that 'everything has a soul' but does he view the devolved humans as anything more than animal-like creatures? Though Tempest and Othos' baby is also fatherless, at this time it is different to Paul and Campion in one key area. Paul has a father figure in Marcus. Campion has a father figure in Father. The baby was taken by a sea creature that appears to be female. Though its growth will be accelerated due to some of Grandmother's power, we have yet to see what kind of father figure it will have to influence it. Hunter came close to becoming a father figure for the baby but was too late. If some of the other comments hold true and the devolved humans are closer to being 'pure' than humans are, then they will still hold value to SOL / The Light. Although the creatures seem now closer to being animals than human, they are still a creature that has been created - especially given that they were formerly humans. If their welfare and existence is still cared about and of value to SOL / The Light, then the One chosen by It must be a person that cares about the devolved creatures also. I think that because Tempest and Otho's baby was taken by devolved humans it may be raised by them also. As a result. the baby will be sympathetic and caring towards them also. That is something that neither Paul nor Campion have been so far. Perhaps SOL / The Light desires a deliverer that will deliver all classes of creation to the Tree and thus to fellowship and communion with It so that SOL can communicate directly and personally with each of them. It's only a technical point and I'm not sure whether it's valuable information but although both Paul and Campion are both orphans, they are not without 'fathers' or father figures. Paul has Marcus and Campion has Father. We haven't yet seen if Tempest and Othos' baby - which is also an orphan - will have a father figure to guide it. The baby may be raised by the female creature that took it from Tempest. My point is that because of the points listed above, the baby may fit the description in the prophecy more so than either Paul or Campion. As stated earlier, given how the baby will be raised and who it will be raised by, it will most likely not be discriminatory against devolved humans nor will it view them as a lesser class of creation like how Paul and Campion might view them

What if Sol left kepler 22b with the 'first humans' (based on the cave painting in season 1) and came back on both of the arks? This is based on the fact that mother, father and Campion was on kepler 22b for years with no interaction with Sol until the first ark crash landed. Then Sol impregnated mother in a pod from the ark. This not only suggests that the information to create snakes was always on the ark and within Mithraic scriptures but that the snakes are the ultimate beings Sol wants to create. As well as snakes can, maybe, only be made on kepler 22b as it needs to pass through the "planet's core" (based on the silver disc that Sol wanted Paul to destroy). Also, if the rapist is to be believed then Sol was definitely on the ark. (Maybe wanting to create the orphan boy in an empty land as it knew the rapist would die for his crimes and the mother would abundant the child). Sue hears the voice of Sol within the protected tropical zone only after The Trust was shutdown. This implies that maybe the Trust really wants to help humanity as it was programmed by the original Campion and once it was shutdown the ark was reset to its original programming. Explaining why Sol was not speaking to Paul after he entered the tropical zone which Sol would once Paul found the seeds. Additionally this would explain why Sol knows the Sue and Marcus are not Paul's parents and would know their true identities.

Good theories - But in the end it just illuminates the lack of answers the official story is providing. With only 2 eps left... they have to deliver satisfying answers or I fear much of the general audience will be turned off.
