@misterninetyseven28984 жыл бұрын
@@mikeamos6720 Yep, both Panozzo brothers (Chuck and John) co-founded Styx along with Dennis DeYoung! John was the drummer until he was replaced by Todd Sucherman in the mid 90s. Sadly John is no longer with us. However, John's legacy more than lives on in Todd, who is easily one of the best drummers in the business.

Actually the best overall show I ever saw was Melloncamp on the scarecrow tour. I've waited fir someone to play me a better show but it has held up for 40 years. Having said that I've seen these guys 40 times and only one bad show in the bunch, and if you mention bad shows tge guys in the band will always say the same. Dallas Texas I'm the Cotton Bowl and they tried to pull off the Killroy thing. Did not work and they had 80,000 passed off patrons

Back in the day, many denied that they liked Styx. Same ones saying why not in Hall of Fame. How time changes. Always been my favorite even with John Curleski instead of Tommy. But Tommy completed Styx
@anthonygalbo93484 жыл бұрын
in the words of their tour manager from the behind the music special “Tommy Shaw turned Styx from a band who stands and plays, to a band that actually entertains an audience” if it wasn’t for Tommy, Styx would not nearly have reached the stardom level that they achieved like 4 triple platinum albums in a row (pieces of eight was basically his album because blue collar man and renegade were their biggest singles written by him!) and a sell out paradise theater tour and reunion paradise theater tour which was considered to be the hottest top selling live act in 1980 to 1981

Foreigner I thought I knew you well But all this time I could never tell I let you get away Haunts me every night and every day You were the only one The only friend that I counted on How could I watch you walk away? I'd give anything to have you here today But now I stand alone with my pride And dream that you're still by my side But that was yesterday I had the world in my hands But it's not the end of my world It's just a slight change of plans That was yesterday but today life goes on No more hiding in yesterday 'Cause yesterday's gone, ooh-ooh-ooh Love, my love I gave it all Thought I saw the light when I heard you call Life that we both could share Has deserted me, left me in despair But now I stand alone with my pride Fighting back the tears I never let myself cry But that was yesterday Love was torn from my hands But it's not the end of my world It's just a little hard to understand That was yesterday But today life goes on You won't find me in yesterday's world Now yesterday's gone Goodbye yesterday Now it's over and done Still I hope somewhere deep in your heart Yesterday will live on, ooh-ooh-ooh

Tommy Shaw was plastered on my walls when I was in junior high. I remember staying up late to watch them on the Midnight Special. When Paradise came out I was too young to go. I tried everything. My older brother went but he was 7 years older. I had to wait until Mr. Roboto to see them. Not the same. Too much theatrics. Not enuff rocking. Disappointed. Saw them several years later and they rocked again without Dennis DeYoung. He started out cool but then he went cheesey Broadway wannabe.
