Adam's Bridge also known as Rama's Bridge or Rama Setu is a chain of natural limestone shoals, between Pamban Island, also known as Rameswaram Island, off the south-eastern coast of Tamil Nadu, India, and Mannar Island, off the north-western coast of Sri Lanka. The feature is 48 km long and separates the Gulf of Mannar from the Palk Strait . Some of the regions are dry, and the sea in the area rarely exceeds 1 metre (3 ft) in depth, thus hindering navigation. It was reportedly passable on foot until the 15th century when storms deepened the channel.
രാമ സേതു എന്നും രാമേശ്വരം ദ്വീപ് എന്നും അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന, പാമ്പൻ ദ്വീപിനും തമിഴ്‌നാടിന്റെ തെക്ക്-കിഴക്കൻ തീരത്തും ഇന്ത്യയുടെ വടക്ക് പടിഞ്ഞാറൻ തീരത്ത് മാന്നാർ ദ്വീപിനും ഇടയിലുള്ള പ്രകൃതിദത്ത ചുണ്ണാമ്പുകല്ലുകളുടെ ഒരു ശൃംഖലയാണ് രാമന്റെ പാലം അല്ലെങ്കിൽ രാമസേതു. ഇത് ആദാമിന്റെ പാലം. എന്നും അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു. 48 കിലോമീറ്റർ നീളമുള്ള ഈ സവിശേഷത മാന്നാർ ഉൾക്കടലിനെ പാക്ക് കടലിടുക്കിൽ നിന്ന് വേർതിരിക്കുന്നു. 15-ാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിൽ കൊടുങ്കാറ്റ് ചാനലിനെ ആഴത്തിലാക്കുന്നത് വരെ ഇത് വഴി കാൽനടയായി കടന്നുപോകാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു.

Really great video. I want to add one additional thing here. In the past 10,000years ago ocean level was 100m lower than present mean sea level. This means that India and Srilanka were connected by land very similar to Britain and Europe which is now separated by North Sea.

വളരെയേറെ പഴക്കമുള്ള ഒരു ഗ്രന്ഥം അത് രാമസേതു എന്നു തന്നെ വ്യക്തമായി പറഞ്ഞു വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. ആ സംഭവങ്ങളിൽ പറയുന്ന സാഹചര്യത്തെ ശരി വക്കുന്ന രീതിയിലാണ് രാമസേതുവിന് ചുറ്റുമുള്ള സ്ഥലപേരുകളും. രാമേശ്വരം, ധനുഷ്കോടി, ലങ്ക എന്നിങ്ങനെ. അതെങ്ങനെ അക്കാലത്ത് സംഭവിച്ചു എന്നു ചിന്തിക്കുക.മിത്ത് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതിൽ പലതും സത്യം തന്നെയല്ലേ? ഏതായാലും ആദം ഉണ്ടാക്കിയതാണെന്ന് പറഞ്ഞില്ലല്ലോ. അടുത്ത അവകാശവാദം അങ്ങനെയുമാകാം.

Awesome! Sreelanka drifted away from Indian continent while the whole landmass moved from South. Madagascar broke away a bit earlier. If the western ghat was strong/continuous, Sri Lanka would have been still an integral part of Indian continent. If western ghats were not part of Indian continent, the whole land mass would have been broken into pieces, spreading it all over the Indian Ocean

Your explanation is likely to be the correct one. Myths and mythologies are creations of the mind. However, they give colour to bare facts and that is good so long as we take it that way. But the problem is when it is shaped into a matter of belief becomes a faith. The dark spots on the moon that looks like a rabbit or deer from the earth, depending on the imagination of the beholder, are also natural formations as is evident now.
