I have had an RR Sport with the 4.2 supercharged jag engine for 14 years. 350,000 km. (210k miles). Bulletproof drive train. Longest vehicle I’ve ever kept & I still love it. It has been a great vehicle.

I am thinking of buying one. Are they expensive to run fuel wise? The £695 road tax made me sit down as I nearly fainted. But I like them and always wanted one. I would use it on a long journey once every month and use it at the weekend mainly

i own a tesla model s, bmw 5 series and two motorcycles.... other than the motorcycles.... my 2010 Range Rover supercharged Sport is by far the funnest to drive. Something about that 510 horsepower. Granted, there is always something wrong with it (most little things knock on wood) but don't plan to part with it anytime soon.

NEVER use a LR franchised dealer to service your RRS. There are plenty of LR 4X4 specialists out there that will genuinely look after it properly. But some are still sharks. It doesn’t need a service each year, but it does need looking after. Much better value than a same aged Discovery. Though the suspension is harder on the 2010 and younger versions. Great vehicles and is the first ever truly Sport Utility Vehicle.

My dad had a 2008 3.6 TDV8, only recently sold it. Was great car and not once did it break down. Only issues it had was the noisey air compressor and the speedo stopped working, other than that, fine. Worth remembering, leather seats, look after them! Really great video and review. Thank you. All I can add is. If like me your using it at weekends or a second car try a petrol. Once you tried a 5.0 you will be hooked. Just watch out for the timing chains. Fuel is not good but if it's a second car it doesn't matter so much. Still get 23 - 25 mpg on a run. Oh and road tax is now £695. 😠 Had my 2011 5.0sc for a while now. 60k miles changed every fluid. Serviced it when required, not every year as don't do loads of miles. Don't drive it like you stole it. The cars fablous in my eyes as of yet never let me down. Has been more reliable than my 2014 Smax. How does that figure????

Thanks for the comment. I hear what you are saying, all depends on the car you are looking at, you might find a great deal on one that has recently had a new turbo fitted or not long on its service history and they can last for ages 10+ years. If you are not going to put a lot of miles on it and use it as a weekend car. You have the best options of choosing the best spec ones. The car fax report has something like 'Body Electrical System Checked' and I can't find anything to confrim, but these were not recent occurrences on the car fax report....the car has drien another 80k or so miles...also do you think it could be a solid purchase? no rust....visiable.

Hey QP, we have similar websites in the UK where we can check it. Has the seller got receipts/invoices of work carried out and service history? It could be a solid purchase for sure. Have you driven it? Does it feel ok. In the UK if we are really unsure we can take a vehicle inspector with us for a price from a company to give us peace of mind. Hope that helps. @@CarChatTV Wow! Super responsive. Thank you. I will definitely keep you posted! It's at a small dealership, and I missed the cut off time by a 30 minutes so willl be back to drive later. So the mileage alone doesn't give concern? I wish I had a mechanic buddy to take the trip with me, closet to that would be to fork over 289 USB for an hour of labor at the nearest LR dealership lol....I just wish I knew what to look for...the car fax has no mention of a timing chain replacement throught the history, and I was told I can open the oil tank and check the chain myself but who knows really.

It was from a private seller that came with me on the test drive and I kept catching my foot on something when I braked and I said I keep catching my foot and it’s putting me off! When we got back I had a quick look and saw this plastic thing sticking out. I asked what it was but he changed the conversation anyway fast forward to collecting the car and I looked again and it wasn’t there….. 3 days or so later bing bing bing faults start popping up 5 or 6 different ones! So off to the garage it went was told it needed £6500 worth of work the plastic thing I was catching my foot on was a diagnostic chip the bloke was controlling from his phone! It nearly needed the full wiring loom as when the previous owner took the body off it was all ripped apart!
